Chime In With Your Favorite Egg Recipes!
Most professional cooks will tell you that mastering the egg can be a tough project... Most of us usually go the east route and scramble 'em once a day, and never even give a second thought to their versatility... Eggs form the basis for many sauces, desserts and main courses.
That little hen-fruit can make or break a baker's heart when it comes to making even the most simple stuff, like browies... put the egg in the mix at the right temperature, or they'll turn into bricks! LOL!
I like savory dishes in the main, so I'm going to share one of my own with you fine folks, please feel free to post your egg recipes goodies when you comment below! :)

Poached Eggs On Toasted English Crumpets
----------------------------------------
6 extra large eggs
6 Crumpets (Or English Muffins)
6 Slices of Gruyere cheese
6 fresh basil leaves
1/2 stick of butter
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 cup water and one cup white wine for poaching
------------------------------------------------
Coat the sides and bottom of a frying pan with butter and pour in the water and wine, turn on the heat and add salt and pepper to the liquid as it comes to a boil.
Lower heat to a simmer and carefully add each egg (Crack them open first, Silly!) into the liquid, simmering for about 2-3 minutes or until the yolks are covered.
Meanwhile toast your crumpets or muffins under a broiler until each is lightly browned the place one pat of butter and one slice of cheese on each.
Place crumpets on a serving platter and place one poached egg on top of each, adding adding a dot of butter, if desired, and garnish each egg with the fresh basil leaves.
Serve immediately. Make sure that this dish is served while hot so that the cheese will be delightfully gooey when your guests put their forks into it!:)

Hi Fishie
I've just arrived home from a craft market starving huingry and found your eggs benedict recipe! Thanks
Now I understand why it is something ordered by film stars after the casino visit - it is very complicated and very posh!
So I'm going to eat a couple of fried eggs and some fruit and leave the eggs benedict for a more energetic occasion! LOL

I'm getting warm just thinking about a tub of Maker's Mark... But Saturday night is my Martini Hour, and my Muse is beckoning...
Eggs and some de-salted anchovies and black olives and a little crostini and olive oil goe great with my Martini... I'll think of you getting better, NMH! :)

I usually eat them ( Deviled Eggs) without having a "Blast", as it were... I think that's because I make my own mayo, the fresher the better!

My personal egg favorite is Deviled Eggs....
boil the eggs..cut them half long ways.. put the yellow part in a bowl and mix with a little mayo, relish or pickles(whichever I have handy), onion, celery, salt and pepper.. spoon it back into the eggs and boom! And there will be a boom..
The only reason I hate eating eggs.... the GAS.... LOL that is the boom!

A hot Epsom salts bath and a bit of tea, sounds like a winner for your condition...
You may, of course, substitute the tea for any other such liquid that just happens to look like tea... :)
Get well soon! :)

Eggs can certainly spruce up pre-packaged noodles, Cheryl! :)
I'll add an egg, along with some freshly chopped aromatics like garlic, onion and parsnips, to some wet or "dry" ramen...
Instant goodies! :)

I've found an egg can do wonders for ramen soup also.

A very much loved and missed classic, Fishie!
I'll have to go to a Casino buffet to get that dish-- It's a rarity to find it at a regular eatery. Now I'll have an excuse to go away for a day or two! LOL! :)
