I have not been as active lately as I finally found my Niche. I began trying to find my niche here on Apense and researching everything I could read. After spending many hours researching different ideas I discovered that sticking with what you know has finally paid off. Apense has also assisted me because of all the great information from members and the webmaster that I was able to research.

Before moving out of the country I owned my own Property Management Business and as a hobby I really enjoyed learning and building websites. I took both of those skills and created a business out of them.

Since I am a Real Estate Agent I knew what was needed on websites, so I began with a little word of mouth and landed a large account for a Franchised Real Estate Broker. After that I landed another account and built a Vacation Rental website.

I built a few in between for me while researching different areas of what I wanted to do when I received the best e-mail. I was being asked to consult a Broker on How to Begin a Property Management Business including a website. I jumped at this chance and began my Niche.

So at the moment I returned to the US to consult, train and created a very nice website. I never thought that my 15 years as a Property Manager and my favorite hobby would ever come together as a type of a package but it did. The Broker whom I am assisting was worried about the time when I leave but with all the technology available I can easily consult over the internet and she was very happy about that. She plans on passing my name out to several other Brokers who need better websites and who knows what may come of that.

It really is about what you know and writing about what you know to assist others that are searching for their niche. A little word of mouth also really helps. I honestly can't say that I was found purely on the internet because that is not true. My name was dropped by people who knew me and people that I built websites for in the past as a favor.

I am still searching for other avenues but at the moment I am focusing on what I know that I am very good at doing. Not to mention I love what I am doing now. So for those of you searching for your niche, please explore what you already know and what you have had experience with because those are the topics that you can write about and also assist others who may not know.

It takes patience and confidence in yourself to jump that hurtle and become self employed. I refuse to give up and it finally began to pay off. So for those still searching, have confidence in what you already know or what you want to learn about and then just get out there and go for it.

Best Wishes and a Happy Success to your Business Adventure.

Sincerely,

Denise
