The Future of Web Economics
APSense is a Business Social Network. All the members hrer are more or less business oriented and what we are all looking here is how we can make more business and new ways to make business. And of course, we are paid while we are doing all this. And this is what I will talk about – Revenue Sharing.
We all know what is Revenue Sharing – it means that a person who creates new value (content) to the site, will get his/hers own share of the income. Any web site is nothing without content and that is why anyone who creates unique and valuable content is precious to the site. It doesn't matter how cool the layout is and how creative the system is – layout and system are both just tools, only content matters.
When I first time had a surf in the internet back in 90's, it took me about 30 seconds to realize that it was a publishing tool where individuals had equal chance to share their message than a major media company. Loke Dogbert said, "In the Internet nobody knows that you're a dog". Only the content matters, not who created the content. When Google came into the picture, situation was even more equal. Good and unique content did rise in search results. If someone just has something to say, Internet is full of listeners.
Then came blogs, MySpace and other forums where people had a chance to speak out. And that is what people did, they spoke – but mediahouses and owners of forums and networks collected the revenue. And they still do it. People are satisfied when they just have a place where they can build their own little spot in the Internet.
But I have a strong vision where APSense and Yuwie, which are revenue sharing sites, will grow very fast just because they share the income with users. And it will not stop in social networks and forums. I believe that next we have revenue sharing online journals and newspapers. I had a vision already in the 90's about Reader's Digest of the Internet. Isn't Digg something like that? Only thing that it misses is that it's not a revenue sharing. I just wonder why?
I'm quite new here in APSense. I have used these to days by reading blogs and looking if there is anyone I know. I have found few familiar faces. But what surprises me, is how old fashioned is the way most people is thinking about business – specially Internet Marketing. It's mostly selling, selling and selling when it should be sharing, sharing and sharing. The more you share, the more you will get. If you know something, you should share it and you will be rewarded. This is the future of web economics.

Well said, and an excellent observation...
I consider myself a Resource Officer more that I consider myself a businessman or sales person- It is one of my greatest strengths to be able to find and share things with people and this feature has gotten me more business and more sales than any other method that I have known...
I give more to people than I will ever sell- it's my Nature to do so and will go out if my way to find something that a person needs, even if it diesn't make me money
