Traffic Exchanges Suck!!!
hey guys!
i personally feel if there is an advertsing method that really sucks to the core it's this..."traffic exchanges".
there are many reason which enable me to arrive to this conclusion:
no.1) the most told marketing method to newbies by the inexperienced and those with lack of knowledge:
now many ppl should agree here with me. even i have faced this many times in my journey here in the network marketing world when i was new to all this. As a newbie i clearly remember this was the most appealing and starightforward method of advertising that came to me and which i easily grasped. well what really is it?
"you view other ppl's websites and they inturn view yours, it's so simple. and yeah what did my sponser say...it's all abt traffic right, so 4 hours a day should get enough traffic to my page! WOW!! i did'nt know network marketing was this easy!"
i know many ppl would have said this dialouge when they first heard of tarffic exchanges as means to promote there business. it really does look so appealing, but do you think these are all quality hits?? the pro's here with me would have shook their head by now. in my opinion 500 traffic exchanges hits equal maybe just 1 quality hit that you might have got through your apsense business center where somebody thought they should explore your opportuinty. i have'nt got many hits so far but wow! i already have got 1500 tarffic exchange hits....see the diff??
no.2) easily the most time taking!!!
agreed?? 3 to 4 hours a day should be the minimum to drive some results...
no.3) the most hectic
even those in love with traffic exchanges will agree on this. As a newbie when you were first introduced to tarffic exchanges you siad "WOW! is network marketing this easy" atleast i did, only later to realize it's much more difficult then i thought. the fact that they are used as advertising methods specially for newbies could easily be a "shooing" factor for them. although they first appreciate it they soon find out, clicking silly figures for hours and hours is'nt the most easiest job around. this basically was what i experienced. i did enjoy them at first and later it was only a burden on me. not surprisingly the few days that i did traffic exchanges they shooed me away from netowrk marketing for the next 2 months, well to me it was simply a waste of time, extremely boring and the best way to loose money! (my bizness ofcaorse went down)
no.4) they are not catagorized as "staying" forms of advertising:
that's right! the day you don't hit the traffic exchanges for most of your time you don't get any hits for that day! to be precise if i write blogs and discussion sujects and take active part here at apsense will this be btter for my business or hitting traffic exchnages would be a better idea?? branding myself here infront of thousand of ppl is more appealing to me then going for those so named "hits to your website"
no.5) results are a miracle:
again this should'nt be contradicted much, as i said "500 traffic exchange hits=1 quality apsense hit" which suggests results are really hard to come by let's discuss why traffic exhange hits are so low on quality.
the major reason is you can never convince anybody seriously in looking forward to your opportunity in the limited time that you have of for example 20 secoinds after which the reader hits the next button simply becaue he is in too much a hurry to get views for his website, honestly speaking if you go abt reading even 10% of the websites you'll see at the end of the day you end up with very few hits for your site. besides another major reason for these hits being low on quality is that the views you generate are spent looking on the timer and not the website that is showing up. and i bet you do the same (and if you do it there is no major reason to contradict that others won't be doing it).
these are the factors which enable me to term traffic exchanges as really bad. not to say they are totally useless, a few of us have generated prospects through them right?? but then the opportunity cost is so huge! honestly speaking if i do this one marketing method every day for 5 hours and get a ref at the end of the month i won't be so happy because i know i could have achieved much more given the time that i spent
Thus i feel traffic exchanges are really poor quality sources of advertising needless to say i have points to support my ideas, criticm is ofcoarse welcome! and we can have a good debate with those who support traffic exchanges here! so sroll down and have your say through your valuable comments.

Belinha and others,
I think many of us "jump" into the myriad of Marketing Methods available on the internet BEFORE we draw up our Marketing Strategy.....
Yes, a WRITTEN. well thought and discussed (with your mastermind) Plan of action.
What is the objective?
How much time energy and capital to be allocated?
How soon are results expected?
What are the results.
Regarding Traffic Exchanges...
They are typically not the place to sell, but to meet and share.

Thank you Paula! You are right about commitment and passion too. I started rushing. Now I slow down a bit to re-think what I am doing. To be able to endure means also that you must use your energy in a balanced way and set goals and progressive steps. As I mentioned I got in this without any experience. But I know basic rules of traditional marketing and advertising and that may help just a little in my reading...at least I hope!

@Belinha: you are right, you see much of the same. Just creating your own unique splash pages will make a difference. And yes, people surfing are focused on earning credits. But they will take a few seconds to fill out an opt-in form from an auto responder service to explore it later if they see something of interest. To get people buy your stuff it is important to brand yourself as a knowledgeable person in your niche. My last point will require the most time and commitment. And passion to endu

Hi Ghous! Congrats on your article because it managed to get people sharing lots of opinions on TE and that's awesome. I am a newbie to IM and I was brought into it just because I needed to get more traffic to my store. All my friends and colleagues aren't into internet business so I turned to internet for intelligence. The first marketing tool I found was TE. I mean, I was already blogging, using twitter and facebbok. I joined one TE and honestly I do not like the clicking method, but a manual

I agree John. I recently became the owner of a TE so I have now insight in the back office. What I see there is that many member did NOT fill out the downline builder. There are also many that surf and FORGET to assign credits. Of course surfing is a total waste of time if members do not do these essential tasks. Getting referrals for TE's where you are member of is also important. On long term you can spend less time surfing. Besides filling out downline builders there are now several services

Amazing the power of a thread on Social Media.
This conversation started 4 years ago and still getting "action"
Great way to advertise "self" within the social media Community.
Good to see you here, John Guanzon

I have to say that traffic exchanges have been my primary advertising venue for 6 years. I know they work if you know how they work and how best to work them.
If you track your results as Chuck mentioned, which you should be doing with any form of advertising you do anyways, then you will know which ones are worth your time.
And if you narrow down your results to about 8 or so then you really only need 2 hours a day on 4 at a time. Surf 4 in the morning for an hour and 4 in the evening f

Well Then I think you really you do not know how to use them. Good luck in your marketing

I used to think Traffic Exchanges were a waste of time, but then I thought some people must be getting somewhere with them, or nobody would use them. Then I read that you should create a lead page and advertise that on the Traffic Exchanges. Then I found the Traffic Empire ebook. With TE you create a lead page that advertises your rebranded ebook and puts your leads directly into your autoresponder. The TE ebook also uses banner exchanges and safelists to promote your site. It takes a lot of

I agree to some extent that traffic exchanges aren't the best business model for getting traffic, but they can be a good way to get referrals for other traffic exchanges that you're upgraded in and if you use a tabbed browser you can surf up to ten at a time, and get more credits and yes cash too. But I wouldn't advise anyone to make it their only marketing method any more than I would advise anyone to use safelists only. Safelists are about as useless as (pardon the pun) tits on a boar hog..unl

My final answer...
If one will use RE's as they were intentioned, they will be successful
The silly thing is most don't understand the law of large numbers
or ROI (return on investment)
Advertising has always been and always be a constant repitious
Numbers game, regardless the medium......
A newspaper ad that cost me $500 and reaches 200,000 househlods and yiellds
10 inquiries which yield (my average 35% close) 3.5 sales with average annual income per sale =$600.....gives me a

I totally agree. They do suck. I have even tried the biggest names out there, and they suck a lot.

ok look at this....
i just talked to one of my propects from one of my opps. he's a newbie and just joined the world of network marketing, i contatcted him for the first time to tell him what he needs to do, i always have a whole course ready for all of my newcomers, after giving hima few of my lessons i saw that i was not being given any attention and no feedback ona ll those lessons, today i cauight him at googl talk i asked why he was not listneing to what i had to say, his words were..."

ok that perhaps sums it all up. i agree with all of ya, my only concern is that it should'nt be used as your main source of marketing, right?? i mean specially taking 5 hours out of your day just to make sure you get those credits is really what terms them bad and inappropriate, i know many of us don't do that but let's face it, most of the nebwies don't, and that's where they are caught, there lack of knowlege get's the better of them and get's the better for their sponsers!

Agree with Chuck - when I'm on a conference call, or even on the
phone, often I'm also surfing the TE's. Don't do a lot, but a few
credits a day keeps your name out there, and you get to see what's
going on

There is quite an exchange of opinions here about TEs !! I'm a die-hard I promote on them because it is a way to build a downline that you might be able to contact if you're with the right program.... and like Chuck B. said... I see what's going on with other marketers and visually how sites are changing and how they advertise!

One more advantage of taking a gew minutes day on Traffic Exchangfes....
They can be "surfed" while listen to seminars and such, so you are doubling your efforts in time.
And I always like to see "what is Out there" in forms of Advertising.
Just like my Mail box is full of Direct Mail....I learn for others.
