Hey guys! Another article that should help ya'll!

Here I am discussing how to make your forum advertising (which most of us undertake as a regular marketing strategy) effective.

Let’s first look at why forum advertising is so popular:

1)     it’s free

2)      it’s one of the best way to position yourself in your would be prospects’ path

3)      it’s fun

4)      it’s effective

5)      it involves learning along with marketing (you go through other threads of valuable info)

6)      It keeps you updated (you’re aware of what’s happening out there.)

7)      it isn’t very time consuming

and the list can literally go on and on and on…no dought many of the experts out there term forum advertising as “ the best source of free advertising available to all”.

So when it comes to such a crucial marketing strategy it’s important that it is carried out the best way possible so you succeed.

Honestly speaking I know off ppl that have been doing forum advertising for the last 6 months with no results yet and I also know ppl who have yielded results in the first month of their forum marketing including me. Yes I recruited 3 ppl in my first month at forum advertising and I think it will be really helpful if I can share it with ya’ll

So here we go…

1) When and how much:

This is one of the most immediate qs that need to be answered as soon as you decide you’re going to take up this form of marketing. Let’s first take up the when part of it. You need to be posting on a daily basis which means you come online daily and post in at least 6” good forums which receive some traffic. The much part is more important though. You need to know how much you will be posting on these forums. A rough estimate could be that your post should be shown after every 4 to 5 posts, now this could mean posting maybe twice a day thrice a day or maybe just once a day, depending on how hot and frequently visited and discussed the opp  thread is. It’s important to keep this gap intact, by posting more than required you should not show how desperate you are for refs, neither do you want to give the impressions that you’re focusing on forum advertising as your main source of advertising, another point why you shouldn’t post too much is that you want your significance to be maintained. A person who is all the time on the thread will only take attention off himself and the readers will tend to read posts from other users more…it’s human psychology. By posting less than required i.e. appearing in the thread after let’s say 10 to 15 posts, this will make you less significant and your posts won’t be paid much attention too.

2)  What to say:

This is another area where ppl fail to make a difference and thus do not succeed. “xxx is a must to have”…”look at the pay plan, it’s one of the best”…..”xxx pays you out in 4 diff ways”…..xxx has always paid its members on time”….by god! how many times do you want ppl to know that your opp is good. Often just by saying that a certain opp is good is not enough Infact it’s hardly of any substance at all…for instance when you look at a ponzi matrix it says “refer 2 and earn $334,567” what do you do? Do you join?? Obviously not because when you say your opp is good you need to prove it and you know the matrix won’t be able to do that. Same is for your opp, when ppl first look at it…words like “a good comp plan” “gr8 earning opp” don’t impress them much simply because they’ve seen these labels on many other scam programs, so avoid using them.

So what should your posts contain then?? Let me explain…a very good way to go abt your daily posting is to just check abt the thread, for example if it’s been quite for the last few days…your post should say “hey guys it has been really quite…what has happened. Busy enjoying xxx! R, A, T…check yourselves in man! R, what happened abt that prospect you were talking abt who didn’t know English??......see this is how you need to frame your posts. Look to be inquiring look to be friendly look to be caring. Now in this post you didn’t say anything abt your opp, but what you did was you told the reader that you’re more than just a common person to whom coming online is to market like crazy…he will think “hmm this guy does know his manners”. Even when the thread is receiving posts at a normal rate everyday you need to be at times wandering off the main topic of “how good xxxx is”. Besides all this make sure that majority of your posts should contain positive and inspiring words. Share your stories with them, share some good quotes with them, share some positive statements with them…let them know you’re a good mentor, a positive mentor. Also make sure you include smilies and emoticons in between your statements to make your post look more appealing, an avatar will also help you to attain this objective.

3) Be the first to respond to any queries:

point number 1 says you need to be posting in a manner that your post should be around every 5 to 6 posts, now for example what if you post your post and then some reader thinks he has a qs and decides to ask it, you should be the first if possible to respond in the best way you can, you need to be convincing and you need to be friendly and the answer should be in detail. Even though it will be against your point number 1 that you should follow, since it necessary you may go for it…similarly when a qs is directed towards you may answer to it as soon as possible regardless of the fact that when did you make your last post. By responding first you offer to be the first one to help. It’s like when you fall you feel gr8 towards the man who was the first one to rush to help you back on your feet, and it’s he to whom you’ll first direct your thanks to, isn’t it…

4) Don’t show your hunger for refs.

One way to do this has already been discussed which is not to be a posting maniac, it’s actually important because you want to show yourself as a successful network marketer, a person who is welcoming new signups but isn’t desperate for them. Your post should never contain any words even close to this phrase “please be my prospect, I really am a good sponsor” this is the best way to destroy all the trust and meaning (if any) that you created in the reader’s mind, it’s important to show yourself this way even if you didn’t have any success, I understand that this is showing off a skin that you’ve put on but believe me it’s important and isn’t so negative and bad as it sounds…it really isn’t.

Often you’ll really be tested with this instinct of not running after refs. I wasn’t an exception and let me tell you what happened with me.

I was following my normal routine of posting when at one of the forum threads a person posted “I am interested in joining. please let me know who should it be” this made me jump and even though it was 2 am and I was sleepy I wanted to type in the whole of me and that I was a good mentor and perfect for him, fortunately he had posted right after my post (i.e. nobody had responded so far) I held my nerves and instead of giving my proposal I held my nerves and gave him my skype id to talk. Soon after that there was a flurry of posts where ppl said this man should join under them. Abt 2 days later this man contacted me thru my skype id and asked under who should he join. Again holding my nerves (with much difficulty this time) I named a few of the successful posters on the thread and said he should join under them….and he was so impressed that he straight away joined under me, stating the reason “that he was amazed by this professionalism of mine” we ppl often just look at the short term thinking that we lost a ref, we have no idea what we are planting for the future!!! If you plan on following this point you really will be planting prosperous future and this would perhaps involve seeing the back of a few refs but in the process of really showing your true leadership qualities and your professionalism a bit of a sacrifice is necessary….it will pay you off later don’t worry!

These were just a few points that I think many ppl fail to realize of coarse there are many general and basic things you need to take care off, like being polite and helpful etc etc, but I feel everybody knows these. I wanted this article to be really helpful.

Hope to see you as a better forum advertiser and a successful businessman!
