What to Look for in a Company...

What do you need to look for when you’re looking for a home business? Well there are several factors to be considered.

* First off I’d look at the compensation plan. Figure out how much you want to make from your home business then look at the compensation plan that company offers and see how many people it’s going to take you to make that number. For most people the magic number is $10,000 a month. Most companies out there and there are thousands of them, it takes any where from 2,000 to 10,000 people under you to make $10,000 a month. In my particular company it takes less than 400. And that’s either new affiliates and/or customers. Which brings us to the second thing…
* Take a look at how you make your money with that comp plan. If you only make money by bringing people into the business and not for retailing product this is not a good sign. The “average” networker only sponsors 2.7 people into their home business so unless you are a sponsor monster this is not a good plan for you. It’s much easier to share a product with someone than to get them into your business for most people. In my company we can make as much $ just retailing product as we can bringing people in. So it’s a great plan to work.
* Next take a look at the company’s policies and procedures, this is very important. I’m not talking about the “terms and conditions” I’m talking Policies and Procedures otherwise known at P&P’s. This is YOUR contract with that company. Some companies won’t even let you see the P&P’s until after you’ve already joined them, not only is this against the law but it should give you a clue that they must be pretty bad if they won’t even let you see it till you join. Think about that. Many companies have things in their P&P’s to look for things or phrases such as “on going performance” this means YOU can NEVER retire from said company. You have to keep on going and if you stop they’ll terminate your contract meaning you don’t any more checks. I don’t know about you, but I don’t know anyone that gets into a home business so they can work it till they die. NOOOO people get in a home business so they can work hard a few years and have Deliciously Outrageous Income and the lifestyle to go with. Read the post below on Is Network Marketing Hard, the part about Linear and Recurring Income. Also some company’s have in their P&P’s something that goes a little like this “company has the right to terminate said distributer for cause, or at will” what this means is they can terminate you for any reason! Just because they feel like it. I would never build a company that could turn around and take it all away from me and this happened to a friend of mine who was making $40,000.00 a month, yes you read that right and all of a sudden he got a written notice of termination and his checks just stopped and there wasn’t a dang thing he could do about it because it was in the P&P’s that HE signed. His contract. So be very wary of what is said in P&P’s. If they are more than 5 pages long that’s probably not a good sign either. Ours are 3 pages.

* Another good thing to look at is who’s running this company? Find out who the Owners are and do a google search on that person or persons and see what comes up. If it has thousands of sites of people saying they were scammed by that person or company then it’s probably true. There will ALWAYS be some negativity about a company due to some disgruntled affiliates but if there is web site after web site talking about being scammed that is not good. You should always do a google search on the company you’re looking into anyway. Just go to google.com type in the company name such as xyz company then right next to it put in brackets the word scam then hit search. Like this [scam] and see what you get.

There are some things to get you started as to what to look for in a company. Be wary, get with a coach or mentor someone like myself for help on this. And always check the P&P’s I can not stress this enough. Also, the comp plan, for instance, being that it takes less than 400 in my company to make $10,000 a month than some other company that it would take someone maybe 2 to 3 thousand people to make that; doesn’t it stand to reason that I work less hard and for less time to reach my goal? Think about that one for a minute.
