It's Simple To Copy & Paste

Even with Personal Computers having been in the mainstream since the 80's it's not hard to overlook the fact that some of the simplest things can be a quest to accomplish. For example, "How do I copy & paste?"

I remember all too well that helpless feeling of not knowing how to do even the most simple of computer operations! Knowing how to "Copy and Paste" is one of the basics that will save you loads of time and save you a lot of frustration! You won't believe how simple it really is! Just learning this one little technique will boost your computer confidence and have you clamoring for more!

5 Simple Steps to Copying & Pasting

Open the document and "select" the section that you want to copy.
To select a section, first place your cursor at the beginning of the text that you intend to copy, then drag your cursor over the area to be copied.
When you reach the end of the part you want to copy, release the mouse button.

The selected text will be highlighted.

While the section is selected(highlighted), open the Edit menu and click Copy.
This copies the selected material into a special area of the computer's memory called the Clipboard.
(Note that the selection also remains where it was in the document -- you've just made a "copy" of it in the computer's "temporary memory.")

Move your cursor to the place where you want to paste the text that you have "copied."
(You can close and open whatever browser or document you need to. It doesn't matter because the information you "copied" has been storied in the computer's memory.)

Click when your cursor is in the correct spot that you want to "paste" the information to. A flashing line will appear where you clicked.

Open the Edit menu and click Paste.

The text that you copied into the Clipboard should now appear at the spot you indicated.

Congratulations! You now know how to copy and paste! You'll use your new skill over and over again! :-)
