A simple solution, "Create your own work and not ride on the backs of others creativity"!.

What he didn't mention in this film is the fact that the family of the deceased author have inherited the copyright. They have the opportunity of reaping the rewards created by their ancestors as rightfully so. If they choose to sell out to companies today then they are perfectly within their rights to do so. I don't see an issue with this. The only complaints I hear are coming from the next Disney and such. I like the copyright laws because it gives complete power to the author over his or her work. Disney was only able to establish what he did because the copyright laws were very lax at that time. The video seems to have distorted the facts.

hehe, Don, authors are Gods, right? From my point of view, the authors are the same people as others, and this copyright things are now the main meaning of everything. It's only greed for more and more and more profit. This should stops somewhere.

Well Marko, That is exactly why I like the copyright lawa the way they are now because it gives the up and coming authors the same rights as those established publishing companies. You might say that the little guy has a new lease on life, (read between the lines). Most publishing companies don't have the power over us the way they once did. They have to rely on us to make any money instead of us having to rely in them and them taking all controlling interest. This gives us the power to control our own destiny and that is the real reason behind lifetime plus 75 years. Think about it.

Sorry, I can't accept this. I came from rather different society. Everything what exist now is a remix and recycling. Copy, transform and combine is thousands of years old principle. Can't agree that media companies don't have the power that once they have. I think that they have now with more power than ever. Check the everything is a remix video ;)

I can see your point Marko but I believe that the tools are there for us to take charge of our own destiny. No one said it was easy to do. Like I said before I am a creative person with my own ideas and copyright plays a big part in keeping what is mine. No Copy, original work as for example you heard on my video... In our country we have such a thing as the poor man's copyright. If you mail a copy of created works to yourself with dates and the creative process that established it and never open it. This is considered a form of copyright and is sealed by the government once post dated. Just thought I would throw that in there.

Don, I understand your thoughts, but I'm sure that both of us agree that SnowWhite can't be owned by Disney. Also, about poor man's copyright - everything you created is your own, everything I created is my own, right? I appreciate what you do with your works as you said you take charge of your own destiny. I'm a creative person, to (this is not mine, others says that...) but I share everything I created. Everyone can use, copy, reuse, etc...my destiny not depend on that....so what I want to say is that this is personal point of view what to do with your work. But history learns us that people always use what they want, than re-use things and this is the way how the development goes ahead...

Hey Marko, I don't dispute that these giants own everything from the beverages we drink and the meds we take to the propaganda they force down our throats. I agree with you that they have there dirty little hands in everything. My only point was that I simply won't be controlled by them. I am a free spirit and do what I please. They don't control me and never will. I am not driven by the products they have on the shelves or the information they put in the newspapers. I don't believe all the crap they throw at me and take it for it's face value. Believe me when I tell you that the face value of what is spread all over the media is about equal to bull excrement's. George Harrison said it best and I will quote a line from one of his songs. "Have you seen the little piggies
Crawling in the dirt
And for all the little piggies
Life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in.

Have you seen the bigger piggies
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.

In their sties with all their backing
They don't care what goes on around
In their eyes there's something lacking
What they need's a damn good whacking.

Everywhere there's lots of piggies
Living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon." Ok now I have said it all and I would love to go into more detail on a later date about how I reject the establishment and why. Remember I am a 99er so I have been hurt but have since picked myself up and brushed off the dirt and have a fresh set of rules that I play with. I also want to say that illusion is a choice.
