You need to have a set goal going in and stick to it but remember it a SOCIAL site. You have to take part in the noise to a point otherwise you are not being social, you're just spamming.

I hear that Cheryl, but explain the part where you say I have to "take part in the noise to a point". How does that really workout?

If you are on a social site and not socializing then you are spamming. You have to interact with others, everything cannot be join my biz-op or buy my product. You will be labeled as nothing more than another useless spammers if you do that. You have to get to know the people on the network and that means putting effort into socializing.

It's different for everyone, I'm sure, but personally I set time aside to accomplish what I need to in a given day which includes the mundane tasks, getting that article written, answering messages, time to explore news, read articles, research, etc. and time for just PURE SOCIALIZING. In an environment where the majority are just spamming, I cannot stress how easy it is to set yourself aside as Genuine & EXPAND your USEFUL connections simply by taking a few moments to Engage in the conversation.

@Cheryl: Excellent point. Thanks for stressing that out. It's what we need to do in order to get the "socializing" aspect on track.
@Garnet: I like your strategy. Breaking things down in tiny bits, to accomplish the day's tasks.

What most people fail to understand is that following the spam crowd doesn't help, but setting yourself aside to really connect with people goes a long way.

I appreciate your comments.
