Is Google Adsense Dead?

I am not depressed with Google Adsense methods but rather confused. I have been trying to put some quality content on my blog hoping to get some click through conversion  for my content by all my effort goes up in the air.

I am bit angry too because I experimented with 2 blogs and found that one with original and relevant content had 0 or no conversions whereas the other blog which was based mainly on entertainment and celeb news grossed more conversions than I ever expected.

The second blog has nothing but pictures and crappy news about celebs. It was only meant for testing and I never took it seriously until I compared both the blogs in terms of click through conversions.

I had [text+image] ad posted on both the blogs. The second blog is a sub domain blog. All I did was post 3 articles with celebrity pics. It generated around $45 from Google Adsense.

I hear marketers complaining about Google shutting down Adsense accounts these days. I don't know whether I should be happy or sad because either ways I am not profiting from Adsense.

My niche is informative articles which can help an individual to rank their blog on various search engines. I often add articles I like on other blogs be it on any niche.

Is there any other website like Google Adsense which helps in monetizing the blog, please let me know and also share if you are facing or may have faced a similar problem with your blog.

Thanks & Regards,

Google adsense shut me down for "invalid clicks" after only using them for about 2 weeks. Your better off going with free affiliate products as far as I'm concerned. This way you dont have to worry about Google shutting your adds down for no apparant reason, and you'll make alot more money from affiliate products than you will with adsense! Good luck to you.

Laura - I do promote affiliate products and it is indeed better than Google Adsense. I removed the adsense pubid from my blog and now it looks better with no text or image ads. Surprisingly, the bounce rate reduced on my blog after the adsense was gone.

I, like many others, am so concerned about messing up their guidelines, I had an ancient account, but have never been, nor will I be active. I'd rather find other ways of producing income where "I'm not walking on eggshells"! There are other ways of monetizing blogs, I've seen them in searching but would have to search for the results.Yes, I will use KOOIII to search.

I was about to say you should talk to Tudor or Cindy Bolley about AdSense, causs they make interesting amounts of money every month, IIRC.

However, after seeing Laura's comment, I'm not sure. I think it would be interesting to see different opinions on the subject.

As for myself, I use the APSense PPC service, APSense AdNetwork. It's low cost PPC. I believe that when many APSense members start using it, we will get interesting results. I did screencast videos about how to use the APSense AdNetwork, the videos are free of course, just ask me the link to access it.

Well PPC is different than adsense Phil.. in adwords you pay google, and in adsense google pays you to host advertisements. But as Patsy points out, you have to walk on eggshells with google. Whether it be with blogger, youtube, adsense or even their mail system.. they are sooo fricken picky. After being banned from adsense for no reason and having one of my blogs banned with no warning what so ever, I am quite disenchanted with Google. (I moved my blog to wordpress) Not sure what they're thinknig or doing over there, but they are losing lots of good advertisers. I do continue to use adwords though. Jeeze I hope they dont ban me from there as well. that would suck big time!

One IMPORTANT thing to remember if you decide to become a APSense Adnetwork publisher, i.e. show ads from the network on your site/blog.

DON'T show AdSense ads alongside it. Else, Google will ban your account, cause you won't have respected their TOS

Google cares less and less about little marketers, that's why it's easy to lose your shirt when trying to compete for popular keywords.

Remember you fight against BIG corporations who hire full-time SEO experts and pay these people BIG money so they stay ahead of us.

What I meant, Laura, is that AdWords and AdSense complete each other, in a way, although Google pays peanuts per click for AdSense ads you put on your sites, but they make you pay a fortune per click on popular keywords.

There are more and more alternatives to Google AdWords-AdSense advertisment system. The APSense AdNetwork is among these alternatives.

Well.. I have made alot of money on adwords Phil...and I still use it. Now...it did take me a couple of years before I really learned how to "work" adwords, but I spend an average of $10-$20 per day, and I have always came out ahead at the end of the month. I've learned the hard way, and know enough SEO to make it work and profit from adwords. Need help? let me know. You can make money with adwords if you know what your doing.

You have to remember.. Google search is the most used search engine in the world. Not to take advantage of them in your marketing is just plain stupid. That is not to say, you should use them for every product you promote. You have to have a high demand product that pays a high commission for adwords to work. For instance..you would not use adwords to promote a product that pays only a few cents or even a few dollars. You would only use it to promote high commission/high demand products for it to get your ROI.

@Patsy, @Paula, @Philippe, @Pete and @Laura, you guys are much ahead in the race of affiliate marketing. Google is indeed the most sought after search engine and I am taking due advantage of it. But the big guns forget than an idea can change everything! I am sure someday a small marketer will compete with the likes of Google & Facebook to give them a piece of their own medicine. Anyways, thanks for the tops and your valuable inputs!

Nishit, the small marketers have to be careful and play low profile until they can afford good legal advice, else, if Google feels you're a threat, an army of lawyers will destroy you in a second. Google owners won't lose a second of sleep over it.

That's my opinion.

First thing, let's kill all the lawyers. Google is changing all the time, and it takes a team of professional internet marketers, seo professionals, etc., to stay on top of it. That's why it's so hard for the little guy. We don't have that kind of money -yet.

Don, it reminds me of the joke told by b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l Cindy Crawford in the movie Fair Game. She was a lawyer in that movie, someone told her "How do we call sending 50 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean ?"

She responded : "A good start" LOL
