About my Craft

Well I must say it all started when I just became a Rastafarian,in school they taught us craft, but everyone else, including myself was more into business!

The Culture teaches us to be self reliant, and so doing craft became my hobby. It was kind of difficult for me at first when I started to  do crotchet, it was a teen Princess who actually taught me how to really crotchet..

I do bags, hats, hand bands, and  whatever yarn can make, it was hard for me to get sales but I stick to it, and to date I have made a portion of crotchet items, its just hard for me sometimes to get the right amount of money for my products, and a market!

When I went to Nassau, I started to make stuff with beads, earing, chains bracelet, and rings, I had a good market there, the people loved my stuff, because it was different, I try to make my things unique, so when the customers see them, the product sells itself.

While here in Jamaica its what I do to earn money, I am not getting the right amount of money I should get, but at least I am eating...

I wish I had  good market, but I know in the future  will get better.
I must say also that I have 4 sons who help me sometimes, when I get orders. I do the chain and bracelet, and they will do the rings and earing

I love to do Craft, and hope to learn some others also!!

Thank you very much Joan for sharing.

The fact that you are depending on your talents to cover your overhead is amazing. I wonder, insofar as you are on the Internet if you have considered creating a web page featuring your products? It might help to expand your potential market and your sales.

oh yes Darlene! I agree. A blogger blog would be good too! Some more sales could be made!
