To become good at backlinking, study what people with good ranking, and that obviously know about backlinking do.
I first got interested in backlinking when I stumbled upon a blog called ComLuv if you are smarter than me, you will no doubt have figured out the ComLuv is an abreviation for Comment Love. The concept here is that they reward people for making comments on there blog.
I highly recommend that everyone interested in backlinking visit ComLuv. and explore the blog and the level of content, bloggers and comments that this blog draws. While there make sure you register and get there little ComLuv plugin, and yes it comes in both flavors, wordpress and blogger.
The owner of the site, Andy Bailey is really an expert on backlinking. If you use the ComLuv app on your blog, whenever
you post a comment on any blog that also has the app installed you'll
instantly create a backlink to the blog you have registered
with them. You can earn credits by posting, refering others, etc and these credits allow you to "buy" additional sites to add, or a bunch of other stuff that will help to boost your rankings.

This is very powerful you now have an incredible ability to take it to the next level with ComLuv when you register and join this site created for the "BACK LINK" minded marketer. This is not exactly for every one, you need to apply the concepts for your time or it is just a waste of our time..
