Hand Blown Glass

Anytime I go to a craft fair I always seems to end up at the handblown glass tables
Those little critters are just waiting to go home with me and the artisans are hopeful and silent waiting for me to pick up my favorite.

One of our local artists in Vancouver, BC is a twin and his brother and he share a Studeo in Germany.   He is Josef Molnar.  He works in Germany only 3 months a year.  Josef came to Canada to raise his family and plans on retiring in Germany when the time comes.

Josef has items besides the critters.  He has Christmas balls which are tri-coloured and beautiful.  He also makes wine glasses.  They are expensive, fragile and unique.  I managed to get 2 of them and laugh saying that they are part of my pension fund when I need it.  What makes Josef a little different from other artists is he can fix any of his items if a little crack or chip happens or simple breaks.  He laughs and says, "Don't bring him a puzzle though".  That means if the item is in a 100 pieces - forget it.

I feature handblown glass hearts on one of my websites.  They are make by a chap in Boston.  They are pretty amazing.

I really like Depression Glass too.  How about you?

I watched on HGTV about handblown glass, and I found it was very interested. That is really an art. I would love to learn how to do it. Really any kind of art I truly love.
