Where are all of our content writers hiding?  We need some activity in this group!  well maybe this will start a little spark.
A couple of months ago I did a little creative writing.  It was a Fan Fiction short Story based on the old TV show LEXX.  I did it on a lark as an entry for a fan fiction contest on the only truly active LEXX fan forum around.  We are the die hards that love the show to this day.  And what's great is that we get updates on some of the starts of the show current projects and things like that.
To get to the point, that little bit of creative writing won the contest.  So I guess that makes me an award winning writer!  It also made me realize just how much I missed writing just for fun.  I really hadn't done much since high school.  But now It is turning into my hobby .  What I did forget is how characters tend to become 'real'.  Especially those you create yourself.
What I mean is 'real' in the sense that they develop a distinct personality and can be demanding little figments of the imagination.  Sometimes they just chill in the back of your mind and other times they demand your attention.  
Since I'm getting back into this now, who knows.  Maybe in a couple of years I'll get the urge to sit down and write my own book!
