For those who think that somehow, somewhere there is someone safe from security breach it is time to think again.  Even the Catholic Church can suffer a breach.  Security breaches are happening at a record rate.  Even God's own have been breached.

As of today's date 32 security breaches have been confirmed for the year.  Unless everyone does an immediate and complete about face, we will have record numbers of breaches again this year.  In many cases the breaches are not being treated as something wrong but as an oops.  These are some mighty expensive oops.  Not for the businesses in many cases but for the victims.

Until the government cracks down on each business equally, it will continue.  A business that gets prosecuted will think twice about losing information again.  But when you have states that do not consider this a crime it will continue.  After all, the business says "I'm sorry."  And continues on with the same sloppy security measures it used before the breach.

Those days are slowly coming to an end through Federal Legislation but the states should be required to pick up the slack until then.  Both Washington State and Florida have had reported breaches where there no action taken against the responsible party.  However the victims will be stuck holding the bag when their identity is stolen.

It's time to accept the fact that this is going to happen, you are going to be put at risk and take the steps necessary to get informed.

Get informed about Security Breaches
Get informed about identity theft
and most of all get informed on how to minimize the damage and protect your name when it happens.
