Funny, and probably more accurate than the weather reports. I have heard that if the weather report says 70% chance of rain, it means that seven out of ten weathermen think it is going to rain.

Actually it's supposed to mean that 70% of the coverage area should experience "precipitation". But like anything else it's hit and miss. And precipitation does not necessarily mean that it will "rain". It just means that the clouds will release moisture in many cases it evaporates before it reaches the ground, especially in hot climates.

That is the explanation I got from a meteorologist working for a local newspaper about 10 years ago.
