Was Yesterday Wasted? Many members came and read my in good faith post yesterday. Some understood what I was doing, some I'm sure thought I had briefly lost my mind..lol.
Why would anyone spend most of their day trying to reach 551 members on a personal and individual basis? The answer was simple, because I care about this group and I see the future in it. Most people who have known me for awhile, know that when I grasp onto an idea I hang on tight and run with it..lol. There really is no other way to explain what I did yesterday.
Was my feedback positive? Here in the group it was wonderful, but that is because members posting in this group understand the value of a non-advertising group :) . Not everyone agreed or they waivered and said both kinds of groups were okay. And to them I said, this is my vision for this group and the reasons why. This has no affect on how other members choose to run their own groups. All members have an opportunity to create their own groups with their own guidelines. I have chosen this route, because this is the kind of group that works. I have already seen the results, members are being seen on the front page. Content will always win out over advertisements.
Some of you may still be asking yourself...Was Yesterday Wasted? The answer is absolutely not! I reached 74 members, who have read the message. Which means they are active in the APSense community and reading what is written here :) . Also 8 members took the time out of their day to reply to me. And 6 members accepted my contact request. And these numbers will continue to grow over the next few days. So, I would have to say yesterday was a big success!!
I mentioned last night that I would post about yesterdays experience. So here it is :) Now, I need to go for my morning walk. Enjoy the day, Lynn

Getting back to basics, like networking, instead of advertising, can only be a step in the right direction. apsense is supposed to be a 'network', not an advertising forum. You are absolutely right on the money Lynn! Everyone has their own preferred method of advertising, but hands down, nothing beats content over advertisement! Nothing!
I think this is an issue that needs to be adressed more, maybe in 'how to' blogs. It has been adressed numerous times already, but the message doesn't seem to be understood as well as it should be.
Maybe if more group guidelines were posted as non-advertising. I understood from the beginning that your sig link and your ABC is really all you need, but maybe that's because I was fortunate enough to have YOU refer me here!! D
