We've been building our online business for 8 years now. We love meeting and communicating with people all over the world. It's amazing how the internet has leveled the playing field. Now someone (like us) can work from home and compete with the largest of corporations on the world stage.
I would advise anyone just beginning to be patient. Like any business an internet business needs to grow. It may build up steam faster than an brick and morter business but if you are not patient and nurturing it will not even sprout.
Plus even though you are not face to face with your clients they are still real people and need the same attention as would a person to person transaction. People still need to be reasured they are getting real value for their hard earned money.
Overall...have fun. Use your sense of humor and you'll have a very rewarding experience.
