An old timer means different things to different people, and at different times in their life. I remember thinking 30 year olds were old timers LOL.

When it comes to the internet, we are all babies. Our kids are the old timers! It's like they were born with a micro chip that is compatible with all computers. I "feel" like an old timer. I can actually keep up with my 8 and 9 year old children on the computer.

I was watching an interesting program the other day that stated this is the first time in history that children are ahead of their parents when it comes to technology and advancing. Some "old timers", will say that too much computer is a bad thing for kids.

The art of handwriting will become obsolete. Some classrooms are completely digital today - no pens or paper! There is a pilot project occuring in an Edmonton Alberta 4th grade classroom where all the students are set up with a lap top - ALL of their work is done on the laptop and submitted electronically for marking.

Curious what others think about schools going digital. Is it inevitable? Is it a good thing? a bad thing? Will kids forget how to speak? write properly? socialize IRL? (IRL = in real life)
