I'd like to hear what you have to say about global warming. We all know that it is an issue today, but are some people going too far with it? Anyways, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

P.S. Before you go, I highly recommend checking out this link, you will be SHOCKED!

Aah yes, however you then also want to read this link:

Personally, my opinion is that Western society is a wasteful society and it is up to us as individuals to use our resources efficiently.

Greg and I have energy saving globes in every single socket in our home. If I fill a saucepan to soak it, I empty it on the garden and not down the drain.

We use the if it's yellow let it mellow etc. rule, unless expecting visitors! :)

Half of our household waste recycles as garden compost.

When upgrading equipment we give the obsolete (yet still working) piece of equipment to someone who has less than us and would love it, for example we upgraded to wide-screens for our computer and gave our old screens to someone who had worse screens than us and could not afford new equipment.

We use the broom and not the hose to clean our drive-way. A bucket and not the hose to wash our 'one' car. We schedule car trips to work with single car usage. Our one car is the smallest, least consumptive car size for our needs, not a 4-wheel drive for inner city short trips.

I could go on and on, however I won't. Essentially, if we each manage how we use what we have then we would go a long way to not gobbling up the world's resources and environment.

A very powerful film to hire on DVD is "Crude Impact". It's also a great website to visit.
There are so many little things we could all do which collectively will make a huge difference.

This article by Michael Angiers is a good little read:

Yes, how do you ever know what to believe with politcians? I do agree that western society is very wasteful, I think you'd be foolish to state otherwise. Your statement "Essentially, if we manage how we use what we have..." really sums it up.

In my last post I neglected to mention that it is also hard to know what to believe with internet and/or network marketers. I don't mean to compare us to politicians, I just found that funny. Haven't seen anymore remarks yet, so at this point I'd like to ask whether you think that Gore is sincere in his campaign on global warming, or is he just cashing in on it? Maybe it's a little bit of both. My personal opinion, who knows? Whatever the case, the movement is both worthwhile and inevitable. We should darn well be concerned about tommorow. As for the politics of it all, well, I just like to state that I have no real interest there, I just found the comparison interesting. Hope that doesn't sound too political!
