Thank you Blindsman. Do you also have conversion stats? That is, how many sales those hits generated or how many new people were added to a mailing list?
My personal experience with these types of traffic sites is that the visitors are not 'targeted' traffic and may not be people who are looking specifically for what I have to offer.
By way of article writing, blog publishing and reciprocal as well as one-way linking (and many other methods that take a bit of work), I have had 110348 hits to my home site in the last 21 days, translating to 2178 unique visitors, which I find a more reliable stat. From that I may lead 1 in 100 visitors to a tangible result of, for example, adding their name to a mailing list or making a purchase.
Building a long term, effective, result producing business online may take a little more that popping my web site up on people's screens who are likely not interested in what I have to offer.
Do you have any advice for those of us who want 'targeted' traffic increased to our web sites?
