For most men, a doctor’s exam room should be the first stop after a manhood injury occurs. Even the most benign-seeming issue could be more complex than it appears on the surface, so a medical evaluation is recommended in nearly every case. On the other hand, it can also be helpful to know what other guys have gone through when it comes to penile injury – understanding what it is normal and what is not can help men talk to their doctors about the issue. One reader’s story can offer some insight into a common problem, along with some effective tips for ongoing male organ care.

An Intimate Injury

The idea of a male organ cut is cringeworthy, but unfortunately they are all too common. Encounters with zippers, sports equipment and so on can result in painful injuries – however, this reader’s problem developed in a rather different manner.

"It's embarrassing, but my male organ head got cut up during intimacy with my partner," he explains. "We were both in a hurry, and we skipped the lube. Things were pretty dry down there, and while it all felt good at the time, I was covered with little cuts when the whole thing was over."

Most of the cuts were small, he says, but they were located in a very sensitive part of his equipment.

"Most of these cuts were right underneath the head," he says. "It's a terrible place to get a cut, too, as it seemed like those little sores were always rubbing on my underwear, and they'd pop open anytime I got hard."

A Good Start

While the man was quite certain about how he got the cuts, he went to the doctor.

"My partner made me go," he says. "She was worried that I had some sort of yeast infection or something, so I agreed to get an exam. We were both relieved when the doctor said that there was nothing really wrong with me. I just had some cuts that I needed to take care of."

A basic antibiotic cream was the first part of the healing process, the man says, and he was told to use that cream two or three times per day. In addition, he was told to wear loose clothing, so that he wouldn't chafe his skin on tight fabrics. All of that was easy enough to accomplish, but other aspects of the treatment weren’t so attractive.

"My doctor also told me I shouldn't have intimacy or self-pleasure until everything was healed," he says. "I couldn't believe it. I mean, I'm used to having some kind of intimacy every day, and I couldn't understand why I had to skip all of that for days. But the first time I got hard and started bleeding again, I figured I’d better listen to his advice."

Additional Steps

The man also tried to boost his hydration level by drinking a lot of water and eating water-filled foods like:

- Lettuce

- Watermelon

- Yogurt

- Grapefruit

"I figured my dry skin got me into trouble in the first place, so staying hydrated would be a good step in the right direction," he says.

The man also threw out his abrasive soaps and perfumes. He admits to missing the fresh smell, but he also discovered that the products contained elements that would dry out his skin, and he wanted things to stay soft and smooth down below.

When the man's skin was finally healed, he also started using a male organ health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). The added emollients would keep his skin soft and smooth, he thought, and the vitamins included in each dose would help his skin to put down newer, stronger, healthier cells, so he could enjoy intimacy more without worries about cuts and scratches.

Quality products like this are ideal for men who want to keep these cuts from happening in the first place. Soft, supple and well-hydrated skin won't tear as easily, so a regular application could keep men from dealing with friction-related cuts and abrasions in the first place.
