This is another in my Mind Shift Marketing series, I've incorporated my MSM style
into my Natural Selling technique and came up with a newbie phone technique that I
think will assist beginners with their phone skills. It doesn't matter how afraid
of doing phone work you are, you'll have to learn it and learn it so well that it
becomes second nature.
1. If you're a beginner don't even think about having a phone interview with a
client or prospect because all you'll do is talk yourself right out of a sale.
2. I was so nervous on the phone I used to stutter, that will go away with practice
and time.
3. Don't even think of going live with a real prospect on the phone until you've
practiced at least from 3 weeks to a month, you may think you're ready but trust
me, you're not.
4. If and when you finally get on the phone and you're asked the dreaded question,
Is This MLM? If it is simply answer YES it is. Then ask what experience they've had
with MLM.
5. If they ask if this is one of those Pyramid schemes, ask them for their
definition of a Pyramid scheme, I guarantee you they'll be the one stuttering.
6. Learn to listen, when you learn to listen they'll tell you what they're looking
for, you'll never hear that if you're constantly running off at the mouth.
7. Paraphrase what they just said, or Parrot what they said, repeat what they said
to them so they can hear it and you can write it down and please take notes.
8. Begin the conversation by asking them what they're doing now online and what
their experience is with Marketing, that will break the ice and give you some
valuable information.
