Choosing the best commode depends on individual needs and preferences. Two common types are gravity flush and pressure-assisted. Gravity flush toilets are quieter and often require less maintenance but may have weaker flushing power. Pressure-assisted toilets use compressed air to enhance flushing, providing a more powerful flush but can be louder. Dual-flush toilets offer water-saving options. Consider factors like water efficiency, ease of cleaning, and comfort. Ultimately, the best commode varies based on personal priorities, bathroom size, and specific requirements for optimal functionality and satisfaction.

There are lots of good commodes to chose from, but The seat you get is another story. When we bought our home they had Bemis slow close toilet seats on all the commodes and I will never have anything else.

Hey Warren? I agree the slow quiet seat closure is a plus, but it has to be adjusted carefully so it stays up when you want it up. Mine closed on its own requiring me to hold on to it to keep it up (the seat that is)

That made for a lot of aiming malfunctions.....

Mine does not have that problem, it stays up until you finish using it and then a quick flip of the wrist starts the closure and the last few inches it hits a cushion of air somehow and NEVER slams shut.

Haha! Maybe that's my problem? I use those quick flips of the wrist for other things?
