I am a true animal lover. One of the many pets I have are birds, which is why I will only burn Mia Bella candles. Birds have very rapid respiratory systems so particles in the air, such as particles from cigarette smoke, Teflon cookware, cleaning supplies and even scented candles can and do kill them. I know this from personal experience. Mia Bella uses plant and vegetable wax which is non-toxic, unlike paraffin wax which releases soot into the air.
