This product is called My Shopping Genie, and it is a free online shopping application that you can give away. When people use it they can save both time and money when shopping online.

It takes under half a minute to download and sits on top of the search engine that people use. The Genie goes out on to the web and brings you back a number of sites with the best prices on them. In effect the end user gets a free application which they can use on their PC or laptop and when I tried it out it did exactly that.

I was able to save money on ink cartridges for my printer, on Armani perfume for my daughter and on a Canon camera for my Uncle.

If you want to become a distributor for this then the cost is a one-off payment of $199 (circa 130)and then $29 (circa 19)/month. So to own your own online business the cost for a year is $518. In sterling that is 333 for a full year.

I probably don't need to tell you that to start up any type of bricks and mortar business would cost you many times that figure.

You can make money by giving the Genie application away.

There have been over 2 million downloads of the Shopping Genie and the average value per user is 2. Assume you could give the application to 50 people then that would generate 100 a month and your cost would be 19 so you would make a profit of 81 each month.

It works along similar lines as Pay Per Click on Google. When people use the Genie then the advertisers pay the Genie company so much a click. The company then share that click revenue with the person who owns the link. Your unique link is used and you get this with the free websites when you join up. The fact that this business model was similar to the Google business model had by now got me interested. If it is good enough for Google then it is good enough for me.

So that is one source of revenue. You can also get more revenue, because as part of the Genie you can also become an affiliate marketer with Amazon and Clickbank and you get paid commission if people purchase products via your genie link.
Many people chose just to do this and one person I spoke to who had joined had given away 400+ of these and is getting around 800 a month. I am not saying everyone can give away 400 but I was pretty sure by now I could get at least 50-100 and that would still be a decent return.

You can also become a distributor and this is an optional thing to do and is still covered by your sign up fee and ongoing monthly payment. There are no extra charges to become a distributor because the license you pay for at the start includes the right to become a distributor.

If you chose this and then introduce two other people the company pay you back $100 for every two people you bring in. If you sign in 4 people then you get your $200 sign-up fee back. If they go on and sign up another two each then you get $50. There is no limit to this so the more you sign the more you get.

If you sign up four and they each sign up two, a total of 12 then you become a power distributor and that entitles you to a bonus of 20% of their click revenue.

This smacked of MLM, even pyramid and got me a bit doubtful. I checked out everything I could on this type of selling and it isn't pyramid but would be termed as Multi Level Marketing or Network Marketing. At the end of the day, the customer gets a free application and can save money. The distributor can make some money giving away a free application and the investment is small.
