Japan Water Forum starts to call for application for the Kyoto World Water Grand Prize 2022

The winner of the prize will receive 2,000,000 JPY (Approximately 18,000 USD, depending on fluctuating exchange rates).

We became aware of Kyotos resilience and its long history of development, where people pursued creativity through cultural exchange and at the same time valued harmony between tradition and innovation. We came to the conclusion that activities harmonized with unique social and cultural dimensions in the project area, would ultimately lead to sustainable development.

Based on such a belief, the Kyoto World Water Grand Prize was created to honor a distinguished organization involved in grass-roots activities related to solving water problems in developing countries. It also aims to improve the quality of grass-roots activities and make the importance of such activities known throughout the world.
