As part of the backstory for the character, the writers referred in footnotes to several fictional Spider-Boy titles, including WayCool Spider-Boy, Outrageous Spider-Boy, and Awesome Spider-Boy. Character biography in Ultraverse, Marvel, & Amalgam Comics: Spider-Boy, is created with the help of Peter Parker. Billy Connors's parents are killed by a mind controlled Incredible Hulk, rampages in New York, while being manipulated by the "Leader". Soon Peter adopts him as his son; and assigns him to battle genetic monstrosities, created by the man who killed his bastard daughter-"Spidergirl"(concieved by fling with Black Cat, but Parker would learn that he has a son, from his affair with Spider-Woman), for revenge for the death of Squid's father; Doctor Octopus's son, "The Squid". But as Billy Connors, he is given a job by his father, as a photographer for the sleazy tabloid, the Daily Bugle (to get incriminating photos of himself with attractive super-heroines, having become a major pop cultural phenomenon after his debut). Spider-Boy faces many perils, such as giant reptilian killers and symbiotic clones, and evil clones of Spiderman, but his biggest challenge is getting set up on a blind date with the Sandman's daughter (Patty Marko). Surprisingly the two hit it off, and in (2017) are now engaged, with a baby boy on the way. Now Spider-Boy faces his biggest adventure: marriage. The character not only combines attributes of Spider-Man and Superboy (Pre and Post-Crisis), but his secret identity of Billy Connors is a reference to being Ironlad's best friend in "The Legacy of Spiderman". The saga also reflects Spider-Man's desire to pass on the mantle of "The Mask of Spiderman". [edit] Powers Spider-Boy's primary power is the ability to redirect his own personal gravity, allowing him to shift the pull of gravity sideways and walk on walls. He can redirect it inward and boost his strength to superhuman levels, or lower his own gravity to leap higher and farther than a normal human. He supplements his abililty with a Web-Shooter, a pistol that fires streams of synthetic webbing for the purposes of entangling enemies, or firing web-lines to swing from. The character first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962), and was created by scripter-editor Stan Lee and artist-plotter Steve Ditko, and in the year 2009, was readapted, by famed Comic Book Writer, Vic Beckles (who in 1994, created the new hero "Spiderboy"). Lee, Ditko, and Beckles created the character as an orphan being raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben as an ordinary teenager, having to deal with the normal struggles of youth in addition to those of a costumed crime fighter. Spider-Man's creators gave him the ability to cling to walls, shoot spider-webs using an invention he had created, and react to danger quickly with his "spider-sense", enabling him to combat his many foes, including Doctor Octopus, the Sandman, the Lizard, Dr. Kurt Connors (who is later killed by the Hulk); and his son Billy Connors, joins Spiderman as his new sidekick, the Green Goblin, his son; Harry Osbourne, who becomes the Green Goblin II, and Venom, Eventually Peter grows up, into a man, and a legendary super-hero, who later marries his true love; Mary Jane Watson, and together; conceive twins (a boy and a girl, who years later become heroes too, his daughter, becomes "Spidergirl", and his son; becomes the new "Spiderman"), he adopts Billy Connors; as his first son. Soon they become a crimefighting duo, "Spiderman & Spiderboy" (2012). When Spider-Man first appeared in the early 1960s, teenagers in superhero comic books were usually relegated to the role of sidekick to the series' main character. The Spider-Man series broke ground by featuring Peter Parker, a teenage high school student, growing up into manhood, later going to College, becoming a professional photographer & scientist, and finally getting married and having children. Whose "self-obsessions with rejection, inadequacy, and loneliness" young readers could relate.[1]:210 Unlike previous teen heroes such as Bucky, Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Ironlad (the son of Tony Stark), Jace (the son of Space Ghost), Superboy (the son of Superman), and James Bond, Jr. Spider-Man did not benefit from adult mentors like Captain America and Batman and had to learn for himself that "with great power comes great responsibility", a line that is most commonly his Uncle Ben's last or most remembered phrase. But when he comes a man, and eventually a family man. He realizes the importance of being a father figure, by having children of his own, and adopting a son, who becomes his first, and only sidekick; "Spiderboy". Marvel has featured Spider-Man in several comic book series, the first titled The Amazing Spider-Man. Over the years, the Peter Parker character has developed from shy high school student into a man, college student to a married teacher, scientist, and photographer, and a member of the superhero team the New Avengers, and learn that Mary Jane is pregnant with twins (a boy and a girl). In the comics, Spider-Man is often referred to as "Spidey", "web-slinger", "wall-crawler", or "web-head", after he leaves the New Avengers, he learns about the death of Dr. Kurt Connors & his wife, and decides to adopt their son, a troubled teenager; who reminds him of himself, when he was a boy. Just as how Bruce Banner (The Hulk); helped his cousin become "She-Hulk", Peter uses his radioactive blood (during a blood transfusion, when Billy Connors was hospitalized, for saving his life, during an attack from a mind controlled Hulk), and unwittingly creates another "Spiderman", who becomes the new hero, and sidekick- "Spiderboy". Spider-Man is one of the most popular and commercially successful superheroes of all time. As Marvel's flagship character and company mascot, he has appeared in many various forms of media, including several animated and live-action television series, starring Nicolas Hammon, syndicated newspaper comic strips, webpages, from new creators & writers like: Jeph Loab, Matt Gagston, and father & son; Dr. Frank Beckles, Jr., & Christian Beckles, and a successful series of films starring actor Tobey Maguire as the friendly neighborhood hero. Spider-Man was named Empire magazine's fifth greatest comic book character.
