The Malaysian Law had been passed and amended recently to allow anyone in the world ( who fulfill certain criteria) to make Malaysia as their second home on a social visit pass for a renewable period of 10 years ( subject to approval of course ) and to buy properties if they so wish ( real estates and houses ) in Malaysia, each such property costing MR250,000 or more ( USD 73,747 @ MR3.39 = US$1 current rate) and thus giving them the opportunity for investments. There are two reasons that people are responding to this scheme officially called "my second home". 1. good business setting and investment prospects in Malaysia, and 2. a getaway from the rat race of city-life to live in a peaceful and beautiful tropical country.
