by Crystal K. What if every age was the best of your life?
Ready to smooth out those stubborn facial crevices, crow’s feet, and wrinkles? Relax them with an Austin Dysport injection. Fast and virtually painless, Dysport injections will give you natural, beautiful results fast, usually in a few days.

You may have noticed that as the years have gone by, your face’s repeated movements and muscle contractions have caused wrinkles and lines, such as that frown line between the eyebrows - creating an angered, tense appearance no one wants.

Consider Austin Dysport injections. Dysport can rewind the years, erasing those lines by targeting the muscles that caused them to form. Once the muscles are at rest, the skin smooths out instantly— creating a more relaxed and youthful appearance.

So What Exactly Are Dysport Injections?

Dysport, also known as ‘Reloxin,’ is a non-invasive cosmetic injection that is intended to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and lines on the face. Similar to its older more popular rival Botox, Dysport is a diluted version of the botulinum toxin. Dysport injections are intended for issues on the face such as laugh lines, frown lines, and similar facial folds.

How Does Dysport Work?

Dysport works by blocking the contraction of muscles that cause the skin to fold and cause wrinkling and lines. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration(FDA) approved the Dysport injectable in April 2009. Like Botox, Dysport contains an ingredient called botulinum toxin Type A, that works by paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles.
Regular Dysport injections will cause your face to transform as it literally “un-learns” the muscular habit that caused the wrinkles in the first place.

Which Is Better: Dysport or Botox?

Botox and Dysport have a slightly different chemical variation of botulinum toxin, which is a protein created by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. The drugs are thought to function in the same way: both block nerve signals to the muscles, thus relaxing them.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Botox for the treatment of wrinkles between the eyes in 2002, and the FDA approved Dysport for the same purpose in 2009.

In a recent head-to-head study, Dysport and Botox were compared to determine which one was better at smoothing crow's feet wrinkles. For the research, participants had one side of their face injected with Botox and the other side with Dysport so that a comparison could be made.

The results: Dysport is superior in smoothing wrinkles over its rival, Botox, at least on some areas of the face, according to researchers.

What Does a Dysport Injection Feel Like?

Dysport injections are performed in an office, and no anesthesia is needed. Treatment takes less than one hour. First, t prepare for a Dysport injection, the treatment area will be wiped clean with an alcohol wipe and sometimes a numbing cream such as lidocaine will be used, so you are as comfortable as possible. Next, a thin needle is injected directly into the target area on the face. Several injections will be made in the target region. After the doctor has completed the injections, you are free to leave the office immediately.

A Dysport injection is virtually painless. Some patients say they feel a very slight pricking sensation during the treatment but report no discomfort afterward. On a pain rating scale from 1-10, most people rate it a 1-2.

From beginning to end the entire Dysport injection procedure takes about 20 minutes, and results are usually visible within one to two days. Results can be expected to last for three to four months.

Are There Side Effects of Dysport Injections?

Relax. Dysport generally causes no side effects at all. Some patients sometimes report that they feel slight heaviness or pressure in the treated area after their Dysport injection. On occasion, people have said a mild headache on the day of their Dysport injection, or slight redness or bruising at the injection location. Other side effects can include: pain at the injection site, eyelid swelling, eyelid drooping, nose and throat irritation, sinus inflammation, and upper respiratory tract infection.

So fear not: The majority of people who receive Dysport say they experience no side effects at all, returning to work or their daily activities immediately after their treatment

How Much Does a Dysport Injection Cost?

Austin Dysport injections won’t stress you out financially. The typical cost of Dysport injections is between $250 and $500. The price depends on the size of your facial muscle area and the number of areas being treated, the number of product units required, and your desired outcome. Male patients generally need more treatments than women because they have larger facial muscles.
