Your oral care routine for clean and healthy teeth

by Rahul Gupta Business

Clean and healthy teeth require effort. You can’t happen overnight, neither can they be a result of wishful thinking. Your oral care, your foods and the habits, all will have a role to play in making your teeth clean and healthy. It’s therefore important to know in-detail about oral care routine and take a right step towards improving your overall dental health. First of all, you should understand that brushing once a day is not enough when it comes to keeping your teeth clean and healthy. You must brush twice a day, once in the morning and then before sleeping, to maintain healthy teeth.

Right after brushing, you must floss the teeth as your toothbrush bristles are not enough to clean between the teeth. With floss, you don’t allow any food particles or bacterial plaque to stick in the teeth and cause harm. Similarly, tongue cleaning should be a part of your daily oral care routine as it helps wash away those bacteria that can enter the bloodstream and cause a whole lot of health risks. Likewise, one should have the habit of rinsing the mouth after every meal so that no food leftovers or bacteria are allowed to remain inside and harm your teeth.

Further, it’s a good habit to drink plenty of water through the day as it not only assists in saliva production but can also wash away harmful particles from the mouth. You can drink as much water you could without worrying about your health. In fact, it’d be great if you replace your cups of tea or coffee with water as this will definitely prove better for your teeth. After all, caffeinated drinks and liquor, wine and whisky, all cause dry mouth and can harm your dental health. If possible, you should chuck these drinks altogether or at least limit their frequency.

More importantly, you must avoid smoking and avoid using tobacco in any form if the goal is to get healthy and clean teeth. Dentists also recommend using only a fluoride-containing toothpaste to minimize the risk of tooth cavity over time. It’s also recommended to change the toothbrush every two to three months to avoid worn-out or frayed bristles from harming your teeth. As far as diet is concerned, you should eat more of cheese, carrot, apple, almonds and kale as they help improve dental health. Above all, you must limit sugar intake to avoid dental problems in future.

More so, a visit to dentist in Hyderabad on a regular basis is also necessary to keep your teeth clean and healthy. Such visits can help spot any dental problems at an early stage and then you can get the treated started. In overall, getting healthy and strong teeth is well within your reach provided you follow oral care routine diligently. There is no rocket-science involved in maintaining a superior dental health, as it’s all about being regular with oral hygiene and achieving the said goal with ease. So, take a right step towards oral care and be on the right side of your oral health.
