World Reed Switch Market Research Report: Ken Research

by Rati Ram Business Developer

According to study, “World Reed Switch Market Research Report 2024(Covering USA, EU, China, South East Asia, Japan and etc)” the key companies operating in the world reed switch market areGE-Ding Information Inc., OKI Sensor Device Corporation, Nippon Aleph Corp., StandexMeder Electronics Inc., Hamlin Electronics, Harbin Electric Group, Reed Relays and Electronics India Limited, Comus International, Thomas White (Leicester) Limited, SMC Corporation of America, STG Germany GmbH, Ryazan Metal Ceramics Instrumentation Plant JSC (RMCIP), PIC GmbH, Omron Corporation, Reed Switch Development Corporation, Littelfuse, Inc., PIT-RADWAR, SparkFun Electronics Corporation, Feitengda, Coto Technology, HSI Sensing, Bimba Manufacturing Company, HE, XURUI.

Reed switch is an electrical switch functioned by an applied magnetic field. It is used to control the flow of electricity in a circuit. It is made from two or more ferrous reeds enclosed within a small glass tube-like envelope, which become magnetized and move together/separate when a magnetic field is moved towards the switch. Owing to its simple & unique structure, reed switches are used in numerous applications including medical electronics, ignition assemblies, test & measurement equipment, telecom, garage door openers, automotive, security (door sensors, control panels, window sensors, and others), general purpose, appliances, fitness equipment and others.

The key benefits are ability to switch up to 10,000 volts, ability to switch as low as 10 nano volts without signal loss, ability to switch currents up to 5 amps, no switching noise, ability to offer a latching feature and no power consumption when in off state.

Based on type, reed switch market is segmented into Form A SPST (single pole, single throw), Form B SPST (single pole, single throw), Form C SPDT (single pole, double throw), and latch type. Form A SPST are normal open reed switch that interactions close in the presence of a magnetic field. However, Form B SPST are closed reed switch that interactions open in the presence of a magnetic field. Form C SPDT are stated as break-before-make reed, these are generally closed contact opens and then an open contact closes.Based on product type, market is segmented into ultra-miniature, super ultra-miniature and large-scale. Based on application, market is segmented into relay application, temperature sensing, position sensing, pulse sensing and others. In addition, based on end-use, market is segmented into automotive, consumer electronics, telecommunication, building automation and others.

The reed switch market is driven by evolution of internet of things (IoT), increase in usage for automotive safety solutions and industrial/home automation. However, some functional issues associated with reed switches may impact the market. Moreover, high demand for smaller, better & durable switches and various emerging technology & its applications are requiring more advanced reed switch are key opportunities for market.

Based on geography, Japan and China countries hold major share in reed switch market owing to rise in demand & consumption of reed switch in an extensive range of applications in major end-use industries in the countries. EU and USA are expected to witness lucrative growth due to increase in number of end-use industry players and rapidly expanding industrial base over the forecast period. The market is projected to grow at a CAGR of approximately 9.0% over the next five years, will reach US $380 million in 2024, from US $230 million in 2019.
