Wildlife tours in India- Gearing Up for a Memorable Wildlife Safari

by M K .. Travel, Tours....

It is no exaggeration that God has blessed India with a large variety of wildlife. For conserving such kind of a diversity in wildlife, the concerned authorities have opened a large number of wildlife sanctuaries, which are placed all around the landscape of the country. In case you are one of those who is a wildlife enthusiast, then undoubtedly, wild tours in India are  perfect for you.  However, a trip to a wildlife sanctuary is not same as other kinds of tours.  It is not only about deciding a destination and then packing your bags for creating a memorable vacation.

If you are planning wildlife tours in India, then you you need to do a little extra planning and preparation unlike other holiday trips.  For making your jungle expedition a success, you must follow the right jungle etiquette. So, gear up for a memorable wildlife safari by following certain do’s and don’ts.

Let us first discuss about the do’s.  The first necessary thing is to be is to be patient when one is in the jungle. The key is to be calm and do not be in any kind of a hurry by setting deadlines. Then comes the dressing. The right kind of dressing is wearing such clothes that blend with the color of the environment. Harsh colors and bold prints such as polka dots along with ornaments might either shy away the animals or you might get unwanted attention.  Moreover, to save yourself from allergies or insect bites, wear clothes covering your legs and arms.  You must not  wander away in the jungle, staying with your group and guide is necessary.

You must try to keep your luggage light, by only packing just the necessary items with no extra munchies or heavy equipments. Saving yourself from strong sunlight is important, therefore, you must pack  sunscreen lotion, sunglasses and hats. As far as footwear is concerned, wearing long boots would be right instead of sandals and floaters. If you are allergic to dust, don’t forget to pack your medicines. If you forget to pack your camera, you might miss the chance of catching some rare moments. Other things that you should pack is a water bottle, a medical kit,  a mosquito repellent cream and similar sort of other things.

Then, there are some don’ts also which need to be kept in mind too. In your enthusiasm, do not try to feed the animals as you do not know that in what way are they going to behave after eating. You must refrain yourself from littering here and there in the jungle. As you keep your house clean, keep the house of the wild clean too. Keep yourself at a safe distance from the animals. If you get too close, the animals may either shy away or may attack you.

Try and talk in a soft tone and not loudly during a wildlife safari. Some people have a habit of collecting memories wherever they go, refrain yourself from doing this by collecting stones, feathers etc. Brining children or infants may also shy away the animals. While clicking photographs, keep the flash  of your camera off as the light may agitate the animals. Try to avoid carrying a cell phone but if you carry it, keep your phones switched off. You are in the jungle to see the animals, do not try to disturb them for catching their attention and inviting trouble. As a responsible citizen, if you notice any wrong doing, inform the authorities at once.
