Who thought Captain Kohli would say this after the defeat
England has won the first match of the series of five T20I matches started between India and England. After losing the toss and batting first, the Indian team was able to score 124 runs in 20 overs.

Shreyas Iyer scored the highest 67 runs for India. While for England, Joffra Archer took three wickets.

In response, England scored 125 runs needed to win very easily. Jason Roy scored 49 runs. England won the match by losing just two wickets.

After the defeat, Captain Kohli said that his team did not know what to do on this wicket. Kohli, while trying to recover the loss on the pitch, said that the pitch did not allow his team to play openly. Kohli said,

'We didn't know what to do on that pitch. There was a lack of implementation in our shots and we have to overcome it. Accept your mistakes and come back with more intent and keep clarity on where you want to hit. The wicket did not let us hit the shots we wanted to hit. Shreyas showed us how to use the crease and how to take advantage of the bounce. '

Kohli described his team's batting as bad, but also described the pitch as a mess.

They said,

'Our batting was poor and England made us dance on our own. We didn't want to try some things, but you have to accept the situation. If the pitch allows you, you can be aggressive with the first ball. We did not spend the necessary time in the assessment, Shreyas did it but we had lost too many wickets to go to 150-160. It is a part of international cricket, there are ups and downs. When you have your day, you score too much and sometimes it is not possible. '

Kohli ended his talk and said that he will try some new things in the series. But at the same time he also said that his team cannot take anything lightly against England. Kohli said,

'Stick to your plan, but also accept that the bowling team can also execute their plan. Switching from a test cannot be a factor, take pride in playing good cricket with the white ball, having won some of your last T20 series. We have to try a few things in these five matches before the World Cup, but we cannot take anything lightly against England. '

England are now 1-0 ahead in the five-match series. The second match of the series will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, 14 March.
