There are a bunch of questions that put both students and parents into a dilemma once a learner enters his/her 10th Grade. Such questions are “Which board to choose after 10th for competitive exams?”, “Should I go with ICSE or CBSE?”, “Can I apply to another school via online school admission form?” and so on. This bombardment of questions will be answered in this single post. Stay a loyal reader and explore the insightfulness you seek out.

What Happens After 10th Grade?
Well, the 10th standard is quite a rollercoaster for learners because only at this stage do they get to identify and choose their interested subjects and hence take a step that shapes their future. Most of the students sometimes don’t realise what their interest lies in which eventually drives them to choose something that won’t turn out to be fruitful later. That’s why it is crucially significant for both parents and students to understand all boards and take the opportunity that actually shortens their choices and at last, enables them to focus and continue with only those set of subjects that give wings to their career.

Comprehending All Prominent Boards:
For choosing the right board based on your interest and career choice, you first need to understand that there’s nothing called the “best among the rest” in academic institutes. All streams and all subjects are best in themselves and are added to the curriculum for specific learning objectives based on the different interest levels of students. Similarly, all boards of education are best on their own and are designed to fulfil the unique yet diverse learning needs and career goals of students.

To identify what’s the right education board, you need to have a profound understanding of all boards and be precise with what competitive exams you will proceed to appear in after your senior secondary education. Below is the list of all boards available in India. Each such education board is authentic and follows its self-created curriculum, syllabus and examination patterns.

  • CBSE: It is the nationally recognized popular board of education for private and public schools. More than 20,000 schools in India and 200 above schools outside India are affiliated with CBSE. Followed by the NCERT curriculum, CBSE enables three different streams to students after clearing their 10th Grade education, which is Science, Commerce and Humanities.

  • ICSE: This is another popular educational board in India and outside it. It rigorously follows the norms and patterns of the New Education Policy of 1986. This board of education is comparatively more difficult than other boards and it is for private schools. It has made English compulsory for all and gives sufficient weightage to languages and other vocational courses.

  • State Boards: This board of education is unique for each state. In simple terms, state boards are different based on each state. Furthermore, it follows a different educational approach and curriculum by keeping regional languages, and other main subjects on the focal point. By having separate ranking criteria, a few State Boards have introduced NCERT books in their curriculum so as to ensure that students do prepare for pan-India exams.

Final Words!

As already stated above, each board of education is unique, certified and advantageous in its own way. Categorising them from low/poor to high/good will be truly unfair. It’s only up to the students and parents to understand the child’s future expectations and career choice to narrow down this list and find the one which actually meant to be for a learner. CampusCredo has made the school admission process super easy and convenient for learners/parents to now enable them to enrol the students seamlessly without any document verification, school visits, and long queues via its online admission portal. Anyone can visit the portal to abstract the list of top-rated academic institutes in the vicinity and enrol their child in as many schools as they want with some easy and quick steps through a single application form.
