Where to “Vape?”

by Anita Guzman Marketing Analyst

Because e-cigarettes are non-polluting, you can safely use them anywhere. But, there are some places people would prefer you not to vape. This article looks at places you can safely pull out your e-cig, and places you’d be better off avoiding.

Restaurants

Whether or not you can vape in a restaurant usually depends on the rules of the restaurant itself. Usually, you will be fine vaping in a restaurant, but it’s a good idea to ask first. Sometimes family restaurants will not allow people to vape on their premises.

Airports

In most airports, vaping is still not allowed in the general public areas. If you want to enjoy vaping on your electronic cigarette, you should head to the designated smoking areas. It is also forbidden to vape on the airplane, so don’t get yourself in trouble and ruin your trip.

Stores and Shopping Malls

Some shopping malls allow electronic cigarettes and others do not, so you will want to check with mall staff or security before you start vaping. Sometimes you will need to stand in a designated area or go outside.

In Your Car

Usually vaping on an e-cig while you’re driving is not really a problem. However, this will depend on the local laws in your state or city about smoking and driving. Check local laws to be sure. Also, keep in mind that when driving, it is ideal to keep both hands on the wheel at all times. If you are vaping while driving and it distracts you, it’s better to wait until you aren’t operating a moving vehicle to vape.

In the Workplace

Whether or not you can vape on an e-cig in the workplace completely depends on where you work. In some workplaces, it will be completely forbidden. However, in some working environments you might be able to get away with vaping on the job. Talk to your boss and co-workers about it and ask them if they mind whether you vape while working or not.

In a Public Park

In most cases, vaping on an e-cig in a public park is completely permitted and will not cause a problem. If someone asks you about what you are doing, you can explain the difference between an electronic cigarette and a traditional cigarette and educate them a little bit on this innovative product.

When you are using your e-cig in a location where electronic cigarette use is allowed but cigarettes are forbidden, you will still want to check with staff and ask first. This is because many people may mistake your electronic cigarette for a real cigarette. If someone assumes that you’re smoking an actual cigarette and breaking the rules, you could get in trouble before you have the chance to explain yourself, which could be embarrassing and inconvenient.

The first rule in vaping is to always ask if it’s permissible so that you can enjoy your e-cig without any hassle.
