4 - The car is either purchased, leased, or transferred to New York or currently registered in New York

5 - All cars registered in NY are subject to this law. 

Provisions under New York New Lemon Law 

Typically, to meet the requirements of the New York New Car Lemon Law, a consumer must 

1 - Show four repairs for the same defect at the same dealership for repairs continuing after that 

2 – Car is at the dealer for repairs for 30 days or more 

3 – Defects appearing within two years or 18,000 driven miles, whichever comes first.
