NFPA’s Certified Fire Protection Specialist?
Certified fire protection specialists attain the knowledge
and competency required to ensure the highest level of fire protection services
at different levels. To become a CFPS profess you need to attend the CFPS
training and examination to get your certification. To apply for the CFPS
examination, you need to fulfill the following criteria:

Bachelors or Master’s degree in a Fire
Protection-related discipline or in engineering and technology in the related discipline
+ 2 years of verifiable work experience in the fire services, both physical and
financial
·
Associate degree in a Fire Protection-related
discipline or in engineering and technology in the related discipline + 4 years
of verifiable work experience in the fire services, both physical and financial
·
High school diploma + 6 years of verifiable work
experience in the fire services, both physical and financial
You need to attend the 40 hours of intense exam preparation
workshop during the CFPS training in different modules. After that, you have to
clear the CFPS examination comprised of 100 multiple-choice questions in a 3-hour
duration exam. Once you have cleared the examination, you will be awarded CFPS
certification.
