These days medical science has progressed a lot and much of its credit goes to highly impressive advancements in the field of technology. This amalgamation of medical science and technology has done wonders. Now it is possible to see and examine the deepest tissue of the body with great clarity. There are various methods of scanning and imaging internal tissues of the body such as Ultrasound, X-ray, CT Scan, MRI, etc. Each of them has their own role and importance.

However, when it comes to examining highly critical cases such as cancer or a tumour, doctors prefer the most effective and reliable scanning methods and that is MRI.  MRI is considered the best method in case of brain tumour diagnosis.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging or MRI is a non-invasive procedure that is used to form pictures of the internal organs of the body. MRI shows detailed results which are usually missed during X-Ray or CT scan. MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves to detect the internal tissues of the body. It is a safer procedure compared to CT scan or X-ray because there is no exposure to radiations at all.

There are multiple reasons why an MRI might be recommended. It is useful in the detection of tumours, cancers, internal bleeding injuries, infections, ruptured blood vessels etc. MRI for the brain can prove beneficial in identifying nerve injury, optical disorders, and auditory nerve disorder. These ailments can be very easily and clearly examined through MRI.

MRI for the head involves a procedure where the patient needs to lie down sideways inside the machine that is equipped with strong magnets.  The scan can show a lot of information such as infections, injury, inflammation, tissue accumulation, seizures etc. The collected information can be recorded as a reference for future use.

Patients need to exercise caution before going for the test. It is advised that they drink a large amount of water and avoid any eatables for at least four hours before the test. Alcohol is strictly prohibited before the procedure. Imaging process can also help to locate if there is water stored in the brain as a side effect of some disease. Alzheimer’s, sclerosis, Parkinson’s’ disease can be detected via MRI scans. Problems in the pituitary gland are identified using the above imaging procedure. This is all about the process and detail that can be useful for you. Hope you find this post useful.
