Choosing a water purifier for a home is not as easy as it seems because there are a number of water purifiers available in the market. You can even see many advertisements on TVs, magazines, and newspapers on water purifier brands that promise to provide the best clean and pure drinking water, confusing us on which water purifier is best for home use. Choosing the right water purifier is important as it can affect the health and well-being of you and your family. There are many benefits of drinking clean water, so let’s check out which filters or RO purifier is best and how to choose one.

How to choose the best water purifier:

1.      Water Quality: This is the first step because it includes selecting the best water purifier by determining the tap water source at your home. Find out where the water is coming from and then analyze its hardness, salinity, and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). If the level of TDS is less than 500 ppm, then the water is pretty safe to drink. But if the level of dissolved solids is greater than 1000 ppm, then the water is pretty dangerous or unsafe for humans. TDS levels in water are higher no matter you get it from a borehole or a tanker.

2.      Purification: You can choose a water purifier that is adjustable for you based on its quality and the source. Purifying water using an RO or Reverse Osmosis technology is best for water with a higher TDS level of more than 500ppm. RO purifies the water by filtering out all the heavy metals, particulates, and minerals through a selectively permeable membrane. However, if the TDS is less than 200 ppm, UV or ultraviolet filtration can eliminate all the impurities while also preserving the minerals.

3.      Water Storage Capacity: This one is the most necessary consideration you must make before purchasing a purifier. You must at least have an idea of how much water you will need to satisfy your family’s needs. If the storage capacity of a purifier meets your needs, then it is the best option.
