What are the Spray Foam Roofing Work?

by Jeycy Jonson I Love Nature Beauty

Typically foam roofs are used in commercial building applications only in the United Kingdom. With property owners facing re-roof and roof repairs, installing a spray foam roof  has its benefits.

There is much discussion how foam can be applied to residential roofs and homeowners are eager to learn as much as possible on the topic. Though the information is limited the best information compiled on Wikipedia leads to some interesting information.

To avoid the expense re-roofing a house that is simply suffering from nail fatigue, and to obtain optimum insulation, a layer of polyurethane foam can be sprayed onto the underside of the slates or tiles of a pitched roof. This stabilizes and weatherproofs the roof by fixing the nails, battens and roofing felt. As the foam is a superior insulation  coupled with insulation at joist level, your roof will likely meet the stringent thermal performance standards required for a new home. A typical roof can be insulated using the polyurethane treatment for around half the cost of re-roofing.

The insulation at eaves level will leave the area comfortable for use and free from condensation. The warmer, drier, cleaner roof space eliminates the risk of pipes and tanks freezing.
