Wedding Planning Checklist for the Bride & Groom
by Ashley S. Writer For YouFrom the moment you start thinking about getting married, you'll be bombarded by wedding planning advice from friends, family, and strangers alike. But what if you don't know where to begin?
Here's a checklist to help you get started.
Start by creating a budget. You should set aside money for things like venue deposits, catering, photography, flowers, gifts, and more. Then, figure out how much you need to spend each month to cover these expenses. If you're not sure how much you'll need, ask your parents or other relatives for estimates.
Decide Where You Want to Be Married.
Once you've decided where you want to get married, think about who will help with the planning process. Will you do everything yourself? Or will you enlist the help of a friend or family member?
Choose an Officiant.
If you're going to plan a wedding, you need to choose an officiant. This person will perform the ceremony and lead the guests through the vows. You'll also need to decide whether you want a religious or secular ceremony.
Figure Out Who Will Pay For What.
You should also figure out who will pay for what when it comes to wedding planning. If you're paying for everything yourself, then you'll need to budget accordingly. If you're having a friend or family member pay for part of the cost, then you'll need a plan for how to split up the costs.
Book a Venue.
Once you've chosen an officiant, you'll need to book a venue. There are plenty of options out there, so make sure you do some research before booking anything.
