Water Sport Vacations Make New Family Memories

by Kevin Smith Author

Family vacations make lifetime memories. They are times you look back on and laugh, re-telling the best stories for generations to come. But many families get in vacation ruts, visiting the same place annually and doing the same activities over and over under the guise of tradition.

Do something different with your family this year. Book in a space you’ve never been before and try something new, perhaps even a little bit out of your vacation-rut comfort zone. Look into water ski vacations in Atlanta, and make some new, lifetime memories.

Tubing

This activity is known by many names. Whether you call it bumper tubing, donut tubing, or the newest of its monikers, biscuit tubing, you are guaranteed to walk away with a thrill.

Tubing is the least athletic of the watersports. You sit or lay on a large, inflated tube while pulled by a motorboat. Beginners can go slowly while repeat riders can bump along at top speed.

Multiple riders can enjoy this activity simultaneously.

Waterskiing

Waterskiing is the historic choice for water sports. Invented in 1922, the act of strapping on skis and rides the waves across a lake has been a favorite of many summer vacationers.

This activity involved good balance and highly acute motor skills. You need to attend to every part of your body, just as you would when skiing down snow-covered slopes.

The rush of waterskiing is intense, especially if you try a few tricks.

Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding is the newest watersport to evolve but is quickly becoming a favorite. Another solo sport, you strap onto the board, much like one seen in snowsports, and ride the water. With each wake you encounter, you have the opportunity to catch some serious air, or not.

Athleticism is recommended for those who wish to try wakeboarding.

Lakeside

Of course, for the members of your family who feel that watersports are a bit beyond them, there are plenty of on-land adventures to be had. Simply sitting in a comfortable chair with a tasty drink in one hand watching you create waves might be enough.

However, if they prefer a land-based experience of their own the resort has plenty of options.

·         Tee off for nine or eighteen holes

·         Stroll through the beautifully maintained gardens

·         Visit the spa for a relaxing afternoon

·         Hike or bike the many trails

Whether you choose to ride the waves or sit back and watch your family hit the big jump, book water ski vacations in Atlanta, and create countless memories.
