Consumer Sathi team strongly believes that everybody should have access to clear and effective guidance to help them deal with their consumer complaints. The dedicated team of experts that they have are always there to help one in need with each and every step, to make sure your complaint gets resolved, starting from filing a complaint to filing a legal notice to filing a legal complaint, the team works round the clock till your complaint isn’t resolved. It's very important to understand how the consumer forum works and what steps you are supposed to go through.

If you have all the documents with you, it is said that half of the battle is won. So a consumer needs to make sure he has a bill for the purchase and warranty card for products and SLA for services. Usually, many customers forget to take all of these documents when they buy something or get a service done, and such irresponsible behavior further delays justice. But that does not mean you have to be helpless at all because most of the purchase is entered in the ledger and accounting books of the company. With the help of which once you reach a court, you will be able to get back the purchase information from the company’s accounting system just by quoting the serial number of the product that you purchased or even an approximate purchase date.

If someone has any telephonic call logs made to the company with long wait times or letters from the company that showcases their uncaring attitude or anything that can prove the negligence, insensitivity or lack of attention from the company could be of great help in filing a complaint. One last thing that should also be known by the consumer is the registered address of the company.

You have to also officially notify the company about your grievance where you have to describe everything in detail about what you are complaining and what you expect from the company. It will be better if you mention the dates of purchase or any other information that could be valuable. The notice you will send has to be printed on an A4 size paper, and everything has to be written in English so that there is no miscommunication. Consumers have often asked why this step is important? This is important as it is legal proof that the company has received your notice.

The several steps involved in filing your complaint is:

1. Your complaint file must have the list of document you are submitting, the affidavit and your complaint. You have to make sure that you attach the copies of evidentiary documents along with it.

2. To get your affidavit notarized you are supposed to approach a Notary and get your complaint filed. They can ask you to show proof of your identification, so it will be better if you carry your Aadhar, driving license, election card, passport, ration card, etc. along with you.

3. You are supposed to make five copies of the complaint, so that one can be with you, one with the company and the rest three for the court.

4. The next important thing will be the court fee that will be done by demand draft and depends on the jurisdiction of the court.

So, here is how you could easily seek for your justice, make the company remove the defects, pay you to refund, correct their misleading advertisement on electronic as well as print media.
