Visit the Lone Star State by Motorcycle

by Kristen White Blogger
‘Remember the Alamo’, Dallas, cowboys and rib-eye steaks are all associated with the great state of Texas, also known as the Lone Star State. This gorgeous stretch of land has a unique shape, borders Mexico and is considered the dividing point between East and West with a flavor all its own. The best way to experience this state is on the back of a motorcycle where you can imagine you are an old-timer exploring the roads and breaking new ground in the great West.

The best road trips in Texas start at one end and finish on the other side but with so many points of interest to choose from it can be difficult to take a straight line. Corpus Christi is on the coast, Dallas is up in the northern section, San Antonio is about middle and El Paso is closer west but in between these great cities are others like Austin, Houston, Laredo, Brownsville and Amarillo to name just a few.

Why not take advantage of the friendly weather and get on the back of your motorcycle and start checking out the activities, culture, entertainment, hospitality and visual landscape this land has to offer. Use a site dedicated to motorcycle groups to find the best routes, friendly stopping points and quick fuel stops when traveling between the desert points. Follow the borders all the way around, hit up the four major direction points or crisscross in between destinations based on personal preference but with a helpful guide and a way to post your preferred routes you can see what others are doing and share your own experiences. There are so many different things and places to explore that you could be on the best road trips in Texas for months and still not cover all the ground but you will have a lot of fun trying to do it. Riding on a motorcycle is ideal for making the most of a road trip because there is nothing obstructing your view of the landscape around you and in Texas there is so much of it to see that this is the closest you might get to reliving the cowboy days on horseback (only a lot faster).

If you are itching to get on the road again and looking for ideas than why not start with the largest contiguous state in the U.S. and see how long that will take you. From there you can decide to go anywhere in the country and start exploring whether it is west to California, north to Oklahoma or east to any number of states. The best part is that on the back of the motorcycle, you will be flying with the wind in your hair and seeing all there is to experience in one of the greatest and most diverse states. Go online today and see what others have done and then decide whether to follow or pave your own path on the next great adventure to the best road trips in Texas.
