Using LinkedIn for Your Content Marketing Strategies
by Fusion 360 Studios Digital Marketing SpecialistsSocial media is a
powerful tool for content marketing. Businesses and marketers in Utah and
abroad should consider using LinkedIn as part of their marketing strategies.
The networking site is proving to be effective for targeting specific groups of
people — free of cost.
Content Marketing Institute (CMI), a site geared toward
advancing the field of content marketing, says LinkedIn is a network of
professionals focused on B2B interactions, “that means the quality of the
contacts you’ll get for any business-related content is much higher than those
from Facebook or Twitter.”
Content shared via LinkedIn is more likely to be engaged
with by users. When more people share, comment on and engage with your content on
the platform, the higher you move up on the site’s influencer scale, says CMI.
Traditionally, businesses in Utah and nationwide would have
to pay for this type of exposure and advertising reach. One of the main benefits
of using LinkedIn for content marketing is it’s free to use.
Forbes argues, to utilize LinkedIn to your advantage, create
or join “industry-specific groups” to allow you to share and promote your
content among a target audience. Additionally, Forbes says sharing your content
via status updates is a great way to inform a wider audience.
Forbes suggests several tips to get the most out of your
posts on LinkedIn with more audience engagement. The news source says to first
and foremost share and post only relevant information. Forbes writes, “Focus on
sharing industry insights, company news and new product and services
information.”
“Include calls to action...post regularly... [and] share
links to your content via your status updates,” suggests Forbes. The new source
also says businesses in Utah and across the country should create long-form
posts for content marketing on LinkedIn.
Creating original long-form posts that educate your audience
or help them solve a problem is a great way to engage with users on LinkedIn.
In addition to posting original content, Forbes says LinkedIn is beneficial for
sharing or reposting content that hasn’t done well on other social media sites
or locations.
Forbes cautions – if you plan to use LinkedIn for content
marketing, take some time to “perfect your headline... cater your topics to
your audience... use images to add interest... optimize your posts for SEO... [and]
include quotes or ideas from influential LinkedIn users.”
Businesses in Utah and across the U.S. can enjoy the
benefits of marketing on the professional networking site if they share
relevant information that is visually appealing and applicable to this group of
B2B professionals.
