Photography is a wonderful way to express. Creativity is a part of life; it helps us widen our imagination and prepares us for a world that is full of endless possibilities.

You can’t really go wrong with taking a photo as an art form.  

If children use it to record day-to-day things, it helps with memory building. 

Documenting the images in a journal also builds organizational skills. It encourages descriptive writing and if they like to make scrap books, it gives a new medium to their art.

“Every picture has a story to tell!!”

Jumping, running, swinging, hopping, sliding, and skipping can all be used to describe children on the go! Kids are constantly on the move, and it’s important to capture them in action as they busily explore and discover their world. Children see the world through a special lens. There is a purity to their imagination that at some point most adults lose. Children can be taught many skills and be familiarized with the camera and do multiple activities like:

1.     Skill building

2.     Story time

3.     ABC’s

4.     Create a blog

5.     Scavenger Hunt

CHILDREN SEE MAGIC BECAUSE THEY LOOK FOR IT….

Keep it simplified, start with the basics, 30% theory and 70% practice, repeat the concepts in different ways and encourage them.

Not everyone is cut out to be a teacher. But everyone can invest in the lives of children and inspire the next generation of creative artists. You never know who will grow up to become a well known and appreciated photographer because you gave them the first opportunity.

Photography is a sensitive art. Let’s not mix it with the cell phone.
