Use This Moving Cost Estimator For Camden, NJ Small Apartments & Get Free Quote

by PRC Agency PR

Guess how much it's going to cost to hire a moving company to get your stuff into your new apartment.

Wrong!

I'm sorry, I've always wanted to do that - but honestly, no offense - chances are pretty good that you are wrong, and that's nothing personal.

It's not you, in particular, it's the moving industry as a whole... it can be... a little complicated.

That's why you're here though, I assume, and it's why I've compiled this little guide, to help you uncomplicate the industry, unscrew the inscrutable, and uneff the ineffable.

Or, well, to help you figure out the real cost anyways - if we accomplish the rest too, that's just a bonus.

Enough blither blather though, let's get to it!

You probably already know that the cost to hire a moving company can vary widely, depending on the level of service required, the distance being moved, and several other important factors. Well, this new guide from Movers.com - specialists in all things moving - breaks down the cost of moving your one-bedroom apartment, and the factors that can cause your rate to rocket sky-high.

However, this, that you're reading, is not that guide.. this is more like... a guide to the guide, an introductory guide, if you want the full breakdown, just visit the full, free guide from Movers.com by clicking here.

What you'll find is that the total cost to move a 1 bedroom apartment should be approximately $300 - $500... "should be." But it also explains several reasons the price may be significantly higher and suggests methods for those limiting additional charges.

Is it worth it to do part, or all of the move, yourself? What about hiring a few friends?

Well, it's easy to estimate the price of pizza and beer - which is a requirement if you want friends to help, and still be friends - and you can use the Movers.com guide to estimate the cost of your move, or to get free quotes from professionals, but more on that later.

You can get an idea which "extras" might be added to your bill using a chart included in the guide that breaks down the costs of a 1 bedroom apartment move based on the distance required and additional services, such as movers insurance or packing services. While the chart estimates an average move weight of 3,500 pounds, it also includes a guide for estimating the weight of your specific move and explains how that will affect your overall rates.

Now, let's talk about what's really important - how you can save some money, because surprise, surprise, Movers.com has some suggestions... Actually, they have a lot of suggestions, but we're only going to talk about a few because I only have a finite amount of time.

They suggest that you start by checking their chart of "extra services," and discuss them with the moving company in advance. This way you can decide what's worth doing yourself, and what you want the movers to do, based on actual numbers from your chosen company, rather than an estimate.

For example, they suggest that you can save some cash by moving items down any stairs or long hallways prior to the move or carrying them up stairs or long hallways at your destination, to reduce carrying charges. It's okay if "carrying heavy stuff around" isn't your thing though - if that's what you need the movers for, there are lots of other ways to save too, just check out the guide for the full list, by clicking here.

One important bit of information you won't want to miss deals with "surprise charges" and how you can avoid them with a little planning.

These charges often surprise people... but they probably shouldn't.

Let's say, for example, that a moving truck cannot fit down your block for some reason, maybe it's too narrow, or the trees hang too low over the road. This is something you should definitely be aware of in advance - because carrying everything an extra block, by hand, is not cheap.

You could avoid these charges though, if you use a truck as an intermediate stage to get your belongings closer to the moving truck, or if you just load it up yourself. Of course, this might not work in your situation - but that's why there's a whole, comprehensive guide, to help you figure out unique solutions to unique problems.

They also have one other tool that I only briefly mentioned, but I was saving the best for last.

It's the Movers.com free quote service, which is something you should never plan a move without, in my opinion. It's the fast, free, and simple way to get up to 7 no-obligation quotes from local, top-rated movers, by filling out a single form.
