Keeps your mood in control

During your pregnancy, you may have an emotional roller coaster ride, due to the constant hormonal flux. At one point in time, you may feel cranky and angry, at other times you feel terribly emotional or sensitive. Consuming saffron with your food or milk can work like an anti-depressant for you and reduce stress. 

Keeps your blood pressure in control

Saffron has potassium, and crocetin in it. Both these nutrients keep your pregnancy hypertension or blood pressure under control. 

Reduces morning sickness

Morning sickness is a common early pregnancy symptom. Rarely in some pregnancies, morning sickness stays from the first trimester to the last. However, for some, morning sickness can be moderate or severe. While you can have ginger to keep your food down, saffron can also help. After all, saffron has anti-inflammatory properties that help in dealing with morning sickness.   

Keeps your heart disease away

During pregnancy, cardiac output increases by 30% to 50%. So, to keep yourself safe from heart disease go for brisk walking perform exercises, and do meditation and yoga. In addition to this, including saffron in your food can also be helpful. After all, saffron has antioxidants, crocetin, and potassium in it, which can keep your triglyceride and cholesterol levels lower.  This would further go on to keep your heart healthy and hearty.

Due to hormonal fluctuations hair - fall during pregnancy is common. Apply the saffron paste on your hair for hair fall control. The anti-inflammatory properties present in saffron can keep your hair nourished, healthy, and strong.

Insomnia during pregnancy is common as a result of the soaring hormones, and discomfort in getting the correct position in bed with your cute but big mummy tummy, as well as due to your frequent bathroom visits. Saffron has just a little bit of sedative in it, thus enabling you to sleep.

As you step into your pregnancy journey, with the different parts of your body, your skin also tends to change. You can expect acne, breakouts, melasma, etc., in your skin. Including saffron in your food can purify your blood, which further improves the quality of your skin. 

Saffron is also believed to be an appetite booster and helps in digesting your food.  But, at the same time more than the required amount of saffron in your food, can give rise to miscarriage, vomiting, and hypersensitivity. So, put saffron in milk, crumble some saffron and sprinkle it on your food while cooking it.
