UPSC Exam- Key to Brighter Future

UPSC stands for union public service commission, better known as a constitutional body within India that conducts civil services exam yearly on an all India basis for recruitment of various candidates in different civil services of the union including IAS, IFS, IPS and many more. To be eligible to apply for the civil services, it is important for a candidate to be eligible for that particular recruitment as the UPSC exams have their own standard and reputation across the country. The different civil services of the union help UPSC in recruiting people in sectors such as medical, forestry, civil services and engineering. There are a total of 42 important centres across India where UPSC conducts these examinations. Being, the most reputed and important examination for the candidates, the UPSC results also have their own standard and significance. Given below are the eligibility criteria for UPSC examinations:

Nationality- The candidate must be the citizen of India to be eligible for applying in the Indian administrative service & Indian police service.

Age Limit- The candidate applying for these examinations must be a minimum of 21 years of age and the maximum of 29 years.

Educational Qualification- Applicants should have a degree completed from a recognised institute established b y an act of parliament or any university deemed by the university grant commission under section 3, act, 1956.

Number of Attempts- Eligible candidates is allowed to attempt for the civil services examination four times.
Physical Fitness- According to the UPSC rules and regulations, every candidate appearing for the civil services examination should be physically fit. The physical standards set by UPSC are based on the guidelines given in appendix-3 of rules for examination published in the gazette of India extraordinary dated 4th December, 2004.

The union public service commission (UPSC), New Delhi has recently issued recruitment notification for Geologists examination, 2012 commencing from 1st December, 2012. UPSC has invited applications from eligible candidates for geologist’s examination, 2012 to be conducted at various centers across the country for recruitment to the posts of geologist, group ‘A’ in the geological survey of India and Jr. Hydrogeologist (scientist B), Group ‘A’ and Asstt. Hydrogeologist, Gr. ‘B’ in the central ground water board.
Candidates interested in making a career in one of these fields must submit only single application online at the official website of upsconline.nic.in from 15th September, 2012 to 15th October, 2012.
